Guest guest
Dear Rohini and All, If I might be permitted to add something to this :-) ///Alzheimers! A scary word but also REAL and fairly commonplace! Or some variant thereof! Probably more imminent a danger for many of us than the weapons of mass destruction that were never found!/// Certainly it's quite common for those of us in our 'Senior Years' to suffer some loss of short-term memory. It can, no doubt, become increasingly difficult to store new information whilst the long-term memory bank remains crystal clear... I can only thank God that my knowledge of jyotish has been stored in my memory bank over the last 20 yrs and is there for me to draw upon whenever I wish. However, short-term memory can definitely be a problem...without doubt! I mean absolutely no offence to anyone here; But, in all honesty, I shudder when some eager member sends me an article (or their latest blog) to read through and give my opinion on... You've got to be kidding, I think to myself! It's exhausting trying to absorb (never mind retain) new information. I have problems trying to remember the most simple day-to-day things i.e; did I just take that tablet? now, what on earth am I doing in the kitchen? and how many times have I asked my husband (almost every day I suspect); have we said grace? But, again, this is all part of life and something we have to learn to take in our stride...is it really important if I can't remember just having said grace :-) Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com jyotish-vidya ___ - " Rohiniranjan " <rohini_ranjan <jyotish-vidya > Wednesday, February 06, 2008 12:58 PM Re: Wendy ji - your sister Dear Eligio, " it is a meclancholy truth that as soon as we begin to live that moment also we begin to die. " That is why we were given, kindly, the gift of memory and recall! We truly begin to die when our memory begins to die! As long as we remember or more correctly -- can remember and recall, we remain ALIVE! Alzheimers! A scary word but also REAL and fairly commonplace! Or some variant thereof! Probably more imminent a danger for many of us than the weapons of mass destruction that were never found! Sorry! I am not trying to turn this into a different thread! But think about it ...
