Guest guest Posted June 6, 2008 Report Share Posted June 6, 2008 Dear Group Members, I've run accross the interesting concept that the planet progressed the farthest through the Zodiac is the atma-karaka (indicator of the soul), and the planet next in line is the amatya-karaka (indicator of the mind), etc. etc. with guru, mother, father, children, relatives and spouse. What is the root of this idea? Is it from Parashara or is it not part of his system? Am I to understand that planets have intrinsic ( " Naisargic " ) significations, and also temporary significations - much like they have intrinsic and temporary friendships creating a compound relationship? Thus if the Sun is the last planet in terms of degrees through the sky it would intrinsically be atma karaka but temporarily be like venus darakaraka (spouse-indicator)???
