Another connection is that Taurus is the lunar sign of Venus (Libra is the solar half). In one of the planetary chakra systems, Venus is said to rule the heart chakra. Among all the grahas, the Moon represents the place of most profound openness and receptivity, so it is very much connected with the heart chakra, which explains its exaltation in Taurus.
