He is struggling like so many right now. When he was home for Christmas he told me he felt like he was being pulled further and further away from his intent of pursuing his acting career while he is meeting his financial obligations working in IT. My son graduated from University last June and move to NYC to follow his dreams in stage acting. Something he has been active in and pre professionally schooled in for many years. He has also been on stage since he was 6yrs old. He also has a very good talent in the IT industry and has worked in that field part time while in school the past 8yrs. I am hoping for members to take a look at his chart in regards to Career. I need an objective perspective. I am not sure if what he is going through right now is because of transiting Jupiter and Rahu or if he is in the wrong field to pursue as a career. Saturn the 8th lord from Lagna is aspecting the 10th house and Rahu. Saturn is placed in the 10th house from Moon. Saturn is transiting in the 8th house from Moon and aspects the 10th house from Moon. This transit is also unfavourable for some time to come. Your son's intent of pursuing the stage acting is clearly explainable by the aspect of Jupiter on Venus. Examine the chart from Moon. Jupiter is the 3rd lord and Venus is 5th lord and is in her own house. Venus rules the 10th house too. Where the 2nd lord is exalted in the 10th House. He is to enjoy the dasha of RA/SA. Some setbacks and disappointments along the way can be expected. Ketu here indicates some unexpected hindrances... Saturn's dispositor Venus in own sign in 11th house of hopes and wishes indicates his strong long-term desires (associated with drama/theatre) can come to fruition. In the instant chart, the 10th lord Mars placed in 12th house from Lagna, it is a trik house. In this chart, that is a neutral place for him. He considerably improves his position in Navamsa but again with Ketu (i.e. hindrances). Secondly, though Saturn exalted he is a retrograde. How this type of Saturn would behave is to be seen when he enjoys the dasha of RA/SA. I agree with you that the inherent nature of Saturn is slow and steady; accordingly he is to give the results. If a person patiently perseveres, he succeeds. In natal chart, Moon is in the sign of Saturn and aspected by Mars. This exposition reinforces that the native has a spiritual bent of mind. Since the coordinates of the 2 places are quite different, could you please let me know which one your son is born in? Also for both options I get the Ascendant as around Cancer 19.30* with Lahiri Ayanamsa . Since according to you it is Cancer 21*, are you using a different ayanamsa? In rahu MD as rahu is aspecting the 2nd house will give him financial instability. At present his rahu/jup dasha is going on. Since jupiter is in his 7th house it will not affect him presuming he is not married. Mars his karma lord is in his 12th house. It is also yog karak in his chart. He will always have some kind of problems in the profession he is pursuing. U hv also mentioned he has interest in acting. Venus is the significtor for acting & he has venus very placed but it is in paap kartari yog meaning benefic slammed between two malefics in previous & next house of his 11th house. It will always give some or other problems in acting as a career also. Rahu MD with rahu in 10th house always gives interest in political activities. I am certain he will also be quiet keenly following political activites or may be showing keen interest in politics. There is always a great debate on Rahu and Ketu, where they are the most effective, do they own or co-own signs and do they aspect 5 + 9 beside their opposite sign/hse 7. I haven't been in the practice to aspect Rahu & Ketu, so I was surprised with the 5th aspect from Mars on 2nd hse Leo where Sun rules and is placed in 12th hse. However, I agree that 2nd hse Sun placed in 12th hse with Mars is not good and Sun combust Mars. About his keen interest in politics and spirituality, I have felt for a few years that this is the direction he might go in. It's questionalbe though, and that is the delimna. Which way is he destined to go. I know that around 38yrs he will be at top performance in whatever he chooses, but it's getting him there. He is in a muddle right now and his love of stage acting is harder and harderer to balance with his other obiligations. He is very smart, affable and he has a baratone voice that can project cross the audience without a microphone. His speaking (voice and diction)presence also, commands attention and is very persuasive. He has great stage presence too. yes, too, if one counts from Moon, his 10th hse is Libra where exalted Saturn with Ketu is place. this is why I question his direction - or how he could envelop speaking, politics, spirituality in his acting or combine all in politics or spirituality. As soon as i started to read you analysis, I understood immediately! It is always good to get a fresh prespective when one is subjective (instead of objective) not seeing the forest for the trees. Truthfully, I haven't used the Moon as the lagna, falling out of practice, while concentrating on ASC. This proves how powerful the luminaries are in analysis along with ASC. I neglected too, to look at Aspecting House rulers. Where I concentrate on Aspects from planets position IN signs/houses. This helps alot. It's a new layer of delineation. Talking about nakshatra Lords, this too has presented a confusing mix of coming to a proper conclusion. Mars nakshatra is JU. Sun is RA, Ketu is JU, Saturn is JU; Jupiter is MO, Moon is SU, Mercury is SA; Rahu is VE, Venus is SU and ASC is ME If I concentrate on the thrid, sixth, seventh (10 from 10), tenth and twelveth houses for career, that is correct isn't it? Sun and Mars in 12th from lagna and 6th from Moon, is combust. When a planet is combust, they are in essence swallowed by Sun? so their outward engeries are negated? However, is it correct to say that mars in this case who is ruler of 10th & 5th from lagna and 4th & 11th from Moon would spoil these houses because it is combust? If that is so, then Mars's nakshatra JU is spoiled in their houses and placement? If i have confused you I apologize. What i am getting at is the fact that mars is combust, placed in 12th - that I see there is more spirituality or a humanatarian effort in career in some political arena. However, Mars weaken won't show outwardly but more inwardly and might bring him to people but on a more spirituality influence. NO This is why I question his career - I am also confused. The grief that you talk about, surrounds how sick he was as a baby and through his growing years. He was hospitalized multi times a year r for 8 to 10days at a time in a oxygen tent with piggy back IV's. he almost died when he was 2yrs and 4yrs old. His health is always a concern and he tends to get melancholgy when he is in a muddle. Other than that he is an industrious young man as he was a child. In some ways older than his years but very small in stature because of heavy meds in his growing years. He is a joy to be around. He is very close to both his father and me and his sister. Yes, too he has lived in foriegn countries for schooling. However, your anaysis of Ketu I thinkl might have him live in poor areas outside the country in the future maybe because he is in some humanatarian effort. This can be 12th hse issues to. How do you see transit Jupiter and Rahu in Capricorn with Natal Jupiter and Moon there. I believe my inquiry was made because of these interactions that has an effect on other important areas in Chart for career. There is no doubt that Saturn is the taskmaster and it take long hard work to finally realize its true effect. As Always, Uttara p.s. his retro grade exalted Saturn in Libra in 4th and from Moon 10th hse shows his interest in land, building, designing anf Real Estate,however, Ketu is there and could prevent this as a career and ol as a hobby. But eventhough if it is exalted it will always deliver the negative results. Since I don't aspect 5 & 9 with Rahu and Ketu, I am scratching my head with your perspective on the matter. I am not arguing or saying that the aspect of Rahu and Ketu on 5 & 9 is not correct in your analysis,, it is the 5 & 9 aspect itself of Rahu and Ketu that is in question. It certainly puts a completely different tenor on the chart if aspecting Rahu and Ketu other than 7th is a reality. By itself, Rahu, especially in its MD as it is now can play all sorts of havoc. Being Nakshatra lord too of Sun in 12th. That combust of Mars to Sun in 12th is also a huge concern. I agree that in Rahu MD in 10th hse Aries/MA that politics becomes of great interest. Which it does. Right now he has been in Washington D.C. the past 3days for the inauguration. In fact, he just sent me a picture from there as he is watching the president and wife walk the parade route. Too, for Christmas I gave him a few books on political history which he loves. Along with Finncial history in USA the last 60yrs. He reads alot of political newspapers and magazines and has his political pundits that he follow in their commentary. So far, in Rahu MD, he has not suffered any stomach or spine ailments. He is also very close to his father and has a great relationship with him and me and his sister. He is and has been very close to his family as we are to him. I am wondering if these things will come about in the future if the aspects 5 & 9 of Rahu and Ketu is accurate? If one doesn't aspect 5 & 9 of Rahu and Ketu, how would you detremine their effects on the chart? I will find your input enlightening. What I understood was u were asking for 5th & 9th house whereas now I hv understood as 5th & 9th aspect of rahu & ketu. My analysis is as under Rahu's 9th aspect will give problems related to finances & also will give seperation from family life maybe due to professional commitments & at an early age he may hv been away from family due to education, maybe in boarding school & 5th aspect will give him will power to fight against enemies. It will also increase the deseased state. Since I follow Parasara's techniques in delineating a chart. The Aspect of Rahu and Ketu to 7th hse from self is all I use. It seems we had a miscommunication in wording. However, what you wrote below matches closely to my son and his experiences. I can see this in his chart without aspect of Rahu and Ketu 5 & 9. I see that Mrs Wendy, has written where to find your conclusion in the chart with out the Rahu Ketu aspects. Thanks for you input. I am still wondering what my son's destiny in career will settle into. He does have very strong possibilities in Politics, speaking, writing, spirituality and acting. Once Jupiter becomes Maha Dasha when he is 38yrs old. He might find a way to envelop all of his interests into a business partnership for others. However, the next 14 yrs are a guess. Although as noted earlier with advice here on JV his RA SA Dasha in 2011 should be a good time for him. But this is quite common with actors, is it not? Many have been heavily involved in several spheres, whether it be politics or whatever... Sorry I don't have more time for this at the moment. However, what you wrote below matches closely to my son and his experiences. I can see this in his chart without aspect of Rahu and Ketu 5 & 9. I see that Mrs Wendy, has written where to find your conclusion in the chart with out the Rahu Ketu aspects. Thanks for you input. I am still wondering what my son's destiny in career will settle into. He does have very strong possibilities in Politics, speaking, writing, spirituality and acting. Once Jupiter becomes Maha Dasha when he is 38yrs old. He might find a way to envelop all of his interests into a business partnership for others. However, the next 14 yrs are a guess. I was concentrating on the Mars Sun combust with Rahu star on Sun in 12th hse from lagna and 6th hse from moon. which either way effects both Maha Dasa RA in 10th Aries from lagna and 4th from moon Aries. Also, from 10th hse from moon, Libra/Ve with Ketu along Retro exhalted SA. the 10/4, 4/10 10/10 aspecting each other with the volitile 12th hse combust Sun Mars. For such a bright, loving young man, well educated and plenty of interest and talent, he is in a no mans wake at this time, even though he is very industrious and sincere; well liked and respected by his elders, employers, teachers and friends. He is never one to sit back and forget his education, talents and gifts to give back; work ethics or entrepreneur spirit. However, as Mom, I worry. I fear the real world can cause anyone to become disinhearten and end up being off track just because life is real. As you pointed out above, it is a very difficult time for him. Jupiter currently in debilitation with Rahu also transiting in Capricorn/SA aspecting Natal Jupiter and Moon is challenging. Sun too, til mid Feb. causes more aggrevation. Not to mention Retro Mer will transit to conjunt Mars in 29* Sag 2/26/09 with Solar eclipse on same day. Lunar eclipse within two weeks after. The RA SA Maha Dasa coming in 2011 from Nov to March of 2012 does look better because of JU transiting 10th hse Aries from Lagna and aspecting 10th hse Libra from Moon. So to, transiting SA in 10th hse from moon Libra where retro Exalted natal SA is placed, aspecting Aries. However, I do recognize that my son has a very challenging chart as a whole. It will be to his credit to work the best at a higher level to overcome the negatives. In the meantime, these next few years he will I believe with the confirmation of others here on JV be finding his career niche/s as he balances all his interests and continues to grow into a working productive adult.
