Guest guest
Dear Krishna and All, When I first started doing horoscopes there was no astrology software available (that I knew of)...I didn't even have a computer until many years later. So I had to do everything by hand. Being ill-disposed to hard work, it became necessary to streamline the tedious calculations etc as best as I could. I decided it would be good to enter the horoscopes I was working with into a hardcover book (for safe keeping)... Having previously gained accreditation in Western astrology I felt most comfortable with the Vedic wheel style chart but this was (again) tedious to draw every time so I decided to have a stamp made...One larger wheel for Rashi and another smaller one for the Vargas. I also had a stamp (template) made to calculate and enter the dasa periods. It worked well! As we all do, I would sometimes come across charts with no known birthtime, so (using the smaller stamp), I would stamp 12 small charts on a piece of A4 paper, and writing in each (possible) lagna from Aries to Pisces, I would enter the position of the planets (in each one) as they were on the day of birth. Usually we know quite a bit about the person in question; what the current trend of their life is etc...famous people, of course, have very significant features in their charts and they're a lot easier to recognise...yes, it IS recognising the person! I would go through each chart focusing on the events/characteristics of the person, and by a process of elimination (usually didn't take long at all) I would find the chart most applicable to that person. Then to be sure and to get close to the actual degree, I'd confirm as many events as possible. This method worked very well for me for a very long time. Now the computer does everything for me and I've become very lazy...hardly remember how to calculate a chart anymore :-( Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com ___
Guest guest
Dear Mrs. Wendy, Wow, this is what exactly I am doing even though there is software, which rotates any house as Lagna, now. I take down manually, the charts, which I analyze in depth, writing down the chart from all 12 Rasis. Maximum you have to write down 9 charts, as there are only 9 planets. They become the karaka charts. You can analyze for any one of the significations, which is under consideration. Further you have 9 antar dashas (as many planets as many dashas). Consider the dasha lord as Lagna, from there, you can glean what ever you want and synthesize with the Lagna proper. By doing so, the chart under question comes to my heart. Whenever I am responding to Group messages, I don’t even see the charts. This is the way you can remember many number of charts (famous persons) and compare with the planetary position with the chart at hand. Another advantage is that, if you see a chart, you can say whether it is cast properly or not. If you remember 12 charts of a year, you know the transit of planets in a particular year (Major transits Rahu, Saturn and Jupiter). Regards, C.S. Ravindramani. PS : Just for reference, I enclose the template for your perusal. It is a north-Indian style. Though I am well conversant with North, South Indian charts. Still for a long time I am in North, I use this. > > On Fri, Jun 12, 2009 at 12:51 PM, Mrs. Wendy <jyotishvidyawrote: > >> Dear Krishna and All, >> >> When I first started doing horoscopes there was no astrology software >> available (that I knew of)...I didn't even have a computer until many >> years later.
