Guest guest
I'm trying to read Parashara in the original Sanskrit in order to get a better understanding of his work. This is very new to me and it is quite a daunting task. I wonder if there is anyone in the group that has an understanding of Sanskrit who would be willing to aid me in my endeavour, either within the discussion of the group or privately? I've found some online dictionaries, and some basic lessons, and am trying to advance my skills. I'm beginning with sloka 10 of chapter 3. This is what I've got so far: atha kheta raviscandro mangalasca budhastatha guruh sukrah sani rahu ketuschaite yathakramam Firstly, have I transliterated it correctly? And my attempt at translating: atha -thus, now kheta - can't find in dictionary raviscandro - sun, moon, but why as one word? And why candro and not candra? mangalasca -mars and budhastatha- mercury also guruh- jupiter sukrah -venus sani- saturn rahu- rahu ketueschaite - ketu with ending I don't understand. yathakramam -as ordered, in this order Thanks in advance for any help.
