However it makes no significant difference to the natal chart. As for the time; 1st Jan 1804 was declared as the 1st year of independence. As we know the year (any year) begins at the first stroke of midnight (00:00) on the first day of the New Year. The declaration was publicly announced sometime that day; and, to the best of my knowledge, no time (for this public announcement) is given. Below is a copy of the declaration with the names of the signatories....translated from French. Although there is only the slightest difference in degree of lagna and a very slight difference in degree of Moon, we find a HUGE difference in regards to the dasa period. This very slight difference in degree of Moon shows dasa of SA-KE-KE-KE commencing at 13:05 (12th Jan)... This absolutely supports the many discussions we've had (here) over the years regarding the role of Ketu in these sudden catastrophes. I had noted earlier that Ketu antardasa was due to commence on the 15th (today) and wished I could rectify the time slightly to coincide with this; but, of course, I knew I couldn't justify doing that, So I accepted what the horoscope was telling me. I can only thank you, Krishnan, for drawing my attention to the correct location.
