Guest guest
Dear Group, & Mrs. Wendy, We had an interesting short discussion on the topic of how a sign could have a specific guna, yet as a result of it's mobility have a different guna. For example, Gemini could be tamasic as a rashi, yet have sattva as a result of being dvi-svabhava. This appeared a little confusing. I suggested that these different qualities might be blending together to form composites, and/or that they might be operating on different " levels " or in different respects. Here is another tidbit to add to the confusion. The nakshatras themselves are given gunas (at least according to pg 212 of Light on Life, not sure of his source material). And these gunas do not always correspond to the guna of the solar sign they are within. For example Virgo is a tamasic rashi but sattvik due to being dvi-svabhava, and on top of it all, Hasta exists in this rashi, and Hasta is said to be rajasic. Personally I believe that if you examine all three of these simultaneously it gives great insight about the gradations and variations of sattva, rajas and tamas which exist in the various places of the zodiac. Sincerely, Vic DiCara
Guest guest
Dear Mrs. Wendy and all, I just wrote a fully illustrated article describing exactly what I am thinking about how these modes overlay and create the richness of life - as represented in the sky of the zodiac. Here is the link - I really hope you enjoy reading it! http://vicdicara.wordpress.com/2010/03/25/psychology-in-the-sky-combinations-of-\ the-modes-of-nature/ Sincerely, Vic DiCara jyotish-vidya , Vic DiCara <vicdicara wrote: > > Dear Group, & Mrs. Wendy, > > We had an interesting short discussion on the topic of how a sign could have a specific guna, yet as a result of it's mobility have a different guna.
