Dear Group,

What are the varnas of Ardra, Mula, Swati, and Shatabhisha? I know that they

have a common varna, but the translation used is " butcher " and I am not sure

really what varna that refers to (see page 206 of Light on Life).

For that matter, Mrgashirsha, Chitra, Jyestha and Dhanishtha are said to be

" servants " - i suppose this is the " dasa " caste???

So should I understand the nakshatras to be organized into the four primary

varnas (Brah. Kshat. Vaishya, Shudra) and then 3 sub-shudra varnas: dasas,

" butchers " and mlecchas?

If so what is the original word for the " butcher " varna???

Thank you,

Vic DiCara
