Guest guest
Dear Sirs, What is the source of Horoscope of Lord Shri Rama, or as he was god he had all exalted planets and Guru being the Best so Cancer lagna with EXALTED Guru in it. Warm Regards, Tarun
Guest guest
Dear Tarun, The source of Lord Rama's horoscope is Valmiki's Ramayana. Valmiki did not give the entire chart, but laid out the following criteria: (1) Tithi was Chaitra Sukla Navami. (2) Nakshatra was Punarvasu. (3) Lagna, Moon and Jupiter were in Cancer. (4) Five planets were in " swochcha " . Swochcha is swa+uchcha. It means " one's own exaltation [sign] " . One can also interpret it to mean " own sign or exaltation sign " , but Parasara used the word swochcha to just mean the planet's exaltation sign. So the conventional wisdom takes it to mean " exaltation sign " . Jupiter was explicitly mentioned to be in Cn and so he is exalted. We need 4 more exalted planets. In Chaitra maasa, Sun is in Pi/Ar and hence Mercury cannot be exalted. Moon is explicitly mentioned to be in Cancer and hence not exalted. Not taking Rahu and Ketu as planets, this requires all other 4 planets (Sun, Mars, Venus and Saturn) to be exalted. That is the chart used traditionally. The problem with it is that Moon cannot be in Punarvasu with Sun in Aries on Navami, as the longitude differential of Moon and Sun must be between 96 and 108 deg. So Sun MUST be in Pisces. This means that Rahu and Ketu must be two of the five planets mentioned by Valmiki. So Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu are definitely exalted, while Sun, Moon and Mercury are definitely not exalted. We need two more planets (out of Mars, Venus and Saturn) to be exalted. Such a chart will satisfy all of Valmiki's criteria. Alternately, we can take " swochcha " to mean " own sign or exaltation sign " . Then there are a lot of possible solutions. Guest guest
I have tried to calculate Moon in Punarvasu 0-3.20 and Sun in Aries, by increasing and decreasing the degrees , but it is impossible to get Navami, in this combination, though 4 Planets exalted in the chart is possible, but Mercury will not fit anywhere to own sign or exalted sign because it has to stay in either of the next signs to Sun, or in same sign, and in case even if we take Sun in Pisces, it is not possible. So if we take Sun as (Not exalted) then only mercury qualifies as the 5th planet to get exalted, which too is impossible . Thus this remains an enigma. For those members who need the Formula to calculate Tithi - (Moon degrees - Sun degrees) Divided by (12 Degrees) Answer + 1 = Janma Tithi. Or janma Tithi = previous Tithi + 1. Here previous tithi means the answer You got on Sun - Moon divided by 12 degrees. regards, Bhaskar. , " Narasimha Rao " <pvr wrote: > > Dear Tarun, > > The source of Lord Rama's horoscope is Valmiki's Ramayana. Guest guest
Dear Bhaskar, If we consider only seven planets- sun, mon, mars, mercury , jup, venus and saturn for this purpose, you will see that Sun and Mercury can not be in their own or exalted houses. However, it is clear that Sun is posited in pisces. That leaves the remaining 5 planets out of which it is clear that both jupiter and moon have already fulfilled the criteria. We are to fix the positions of the other planets- namely Mercury, Venus, Saturn and mars. Mercury has three options- aqua, pisces and aries Venus has two options- pisces and taurus Saturn has three options- aqua, capricorn and libra Mars has three options- aries, capricorn and scorpio. Now, I hope the problem is clear to you that we have fix the positions of the above 4 planets in the signs mentioned above. regards, Kishore patnaik 98492 70729 On 11/10/07, Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > I have tried to calculate Moon in Punarvasu 0-3.20 > and Sun in Aries, by increasing and decreasing the > degrees , but it is impossible to get Navami, in > this combination, though 4 Planets exalted in the > chart is possible, but Mercury will not fit anywhere > to own sign or exalted sign because it has to stay > in either of the next signs to Sun, or in same > sign, and in case even if we take > Sun in Pisces, it is not possible. > So if we take Sun as (Not exalted) then only mercury > qualifies as the 5th planet to get exalted, > which too is impossible . > Thus this remains an enigma. > > For those members who need the Formula to calculate > Tithi - > (Moon degrees - Sun degrees) Divided by (12 Degrees) > Answer + 1 = Janma Tithi. > > Or janma Tithi = previous Tithi + 1. > > Here previous tithi means the answer You got > on Sun - Moon divided by 12 degrees. > > regards, > Bhaskar. > > <%40>, > " Narasimha Rao " <pvr wrote: > > > > Dear Tarun, > > > > The source of Lord Rama's horoscope is Valmiki's Ramayana. Guest guest
Dear Narasimha Rao ji, Thanks for your mail and taking interest in replying to it. As far as the moon's position is concerned i guess than Sri Rama's name was not as per his moon's positioning. like if we take Aries or Pisces as moon sign then...the alphabet should be different. I donot remember the source of book where i read abt Sri Rama, quite old writer, where he mentioned that if we take tropical zodiac sign then these positions matches. I will try to find out the source of these lines. It would be great if can give your time to write more on Moon's Sign as His name, as it is differnet from the alphabet which should be of Libra as moon sign or he had some other Birth Name which is hidden (not sure). Guest guest
Dear Bhaskar ji, Thanks for your valuable time. Yes this was the same thing i was confused abt, and i read somewhere in a old book that if we take tropical zodiacs to check abt the same we would be able to find correct. I will try to find the book tonight, which said to calculate from tropical zodiacs. Guest guest
Dear Tarunji, Good. You understood the pivot which is one of the causes of all this confusion. Probably in those times there was only one Zodiac. Who knows what was the maximum position Mercury and Venus could be from the Sun in those times ? The Year of Birth of Shri rama, how many days were there in that year? How many days in that month ? How many Nakshatras were taken in consideration by those people for calculation purposes (I think there is no change here)? How can any machine or human put exactly the degrees of planets at that time of Birth. The Earths crust too has been moving in thousands of Years.Who will take this shift in a/c ? etc.etc. there are so many queries to be answered. Which is why I stayed away from this thread. regards, Bhaskar. , " Tarun " <tarun.virgo wrote: > > Dear Bhaskar ji, > > Thanks for your valuable time. > > Yes this was the same thing i was confused abt, and i read somewhere > in a old book that if we take tropical zodiacs to check abt the same > we would be able to find correct. > > I will try to find the book tonight, which said to calculate from > tropical zodiacs. > > Thanks , > > Warm Regards, > > Tarun > > , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish@> > wrote: > > > > I have tried to calculate Moon in Punarvasu 0-3.20 > > and Sun in Aries, by increasing and decreasing the > > degrees , but it is impossible to get Navami, in > > this combination, though 4 Planets exalted in the > > chart is possible, but Mercury will not fit anywhere > > to own sign or exalted sign because it has to stay > > in either of the next signs to Sun, or in same > > sign, and in case even if we take > > Sun in Pisces, it is not possible. > > So if we take Sun as (Not exalted) then only mercury > > qualifies as the 5th planet to get exalted, > > which too is impossible . > > Thus this remains an enigma. > > > > For those members who need the Formula to calculate > > Tithi - > > (Moon degrees - Sun degrees) Divided by (12 Degrees) > > Answer + 1 = Janma Tithi. > > > > Or janma Tithi = previous Tithi + 1. > > > > Here previous tithi means the answer You got > > on Sun - Moon divided by 12 degrees. > > > > regards, > > Bhaskar. > > > > > > , " Narasimha Rao " <pvr@> wrote: > > > > > > Dear Tarun, > > > > > > The source of Lord Rama's horoscope is Valmiki's Ramayana. > Valmiki > > > did not give the entire chart, but laid out the following > criteria: > > > > > > (1) Tithi was Chaitra Sukla Navami. > > > (2) Nakshatra was Punarvasu. > > > (3) Lagna, Moon and Jupiter were in Cancer. > > > (4) Five planets were in " swochcha " . > > > > > > Swochcha is swa+uchcha. Guest guest
Dear Kishore ji, I am giving below one more chart which may or may not match as what is written by Sage Valmiki, as the Chart of Shri Ramschandra. Cancer Lagna. Moon and Jupiter in Cancer Nakshatra can be Punarvasu in this case. Saturn in Libra (Exalted) Mars in Capricorn (Exalted) Venus in Pisces (Exalted) Jupiter (Exalted) Sun in Aries (Exalted) Rahu in Virgo (Where is Mercury ?) Hamsa Yoga, Sasha Yoga and Ruchaka Yoga is seen. Can the above combination be possible in a chart or not ? The problem is that if one condition is met somewhere then some other condition would not be met somewhere else. So I take leave of this thread , as not my cup of tea to solve this. regards, Bhaskar. , " kishore patnaik " <kishorepatnaik09 wrote: > > Dear Bhaskar, > > If we consider only seven planets- sun, mon, mars, mercury , jup, venus and > saturn for this purpose, > you will see that Sun and Mercury can not be in their own or exalted houses. > However, it is clear that Sun is posited in pisces. > > That leaves the remaining 5 planets out of which it is clear that both > jupiter and moon have already > fulfilled the criteria. > > We are to fix the positions of the other planets- namely Mercury, Venus, > Saturn and mars. > > Mercury has three options- aqua, pisces and aries > Venus has two options- pisces and taurus > Saturn has three options- aqua, capricorn and libra > Mars has three options- aries, capricorn and scorpio. > > Now, I hope the problem is clear to you that we have fix the positions of > the above 4 planets in the signs mentioned above. > > regards, > Kishore patnaik > 98492 70729 > > On 11/10/07, Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > > > I have tried to calculate Moon in Punarvasu 0-3.20 > > and Sun in Aries, by increasing and decreasing the > > degrees , but it is impossible to get Navami, in > > this combination, though 4 Planets exalted in the > > chart is possible, but Mercury will not fit anywhere > > to own sign or exalted sign because it has to stay > > in either of the next signs to Sun, or in same > > sign, and in case even if we take > > Sun in Pisces, it is not possible. > > > > <% 40>, > > " Narasimha Rao " <pvr@> wrote: > > > > > > Dear Tarun, > > > > > > The source of Lord Rama's horoscope is Valmiki's Ramayana. Guest guest
Dear Bhaskar ji, Yes true, there the confusion remains abt the old positions of planets. but we have same nakshatras and all , if these changes then the jyotish completely changes. As astrology was a big scene in deciding the ceremonies and even birth names. So this also creates confusion abt the moon's postion also. Hope to find solution of this confusion. Thanks and Best Regards, Tarun. , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > Dear Tarunji, > > Good. > You understood the pivot which is one of the > causes of all this confusion. > Probably in those times there was only one Zodiac. > Who knows what was the maximum position Mercury > and Venus could be from the Sun in those times ? > The Year of Birth of Shri rama, how many days were > there in that year? Guest guest
dear bhaskar ji , I am silent memebr of this estemmed forum and many other forums . The chart u presented i dont know its in Valmiki ramayana or not ,but i find in many discussions and writing of Pt.sanjay rath and he was using mercury in Taurus .The other planetary positions are same . And he discuses various dasas like even Moola dasa and arudhas and even the life of sri ramji is detail with this data .So much exalted planets and the avtara hood of lord ram and his excile to forest and the curses he got ,even how it was fruitified tru a servant maid the hunchback Mandara, and things like that and Venus exlated was showing the greatness of seetha ji and mars exalted as 5th lord was showing the Valiant sons and Venus was in 12th from arudha lagna was showing the marital problems he faced .This was the line of discussions generaly i think and was satisfiable to a great extent . Now i am confused . Guest guest
Dear VArma and others, The chart that was being used by Sanjay rath and others is the chart that is traditionally ascribed to Sri Rama. That such a chart is traditionally given is clear from other sources such as adhyatma ramayan. If you read the first sarga 14th and 15th slokas of AR, you will find that the author has clearly mentioned that 5 planets were in exaltation (no mention of swa-own house) and goes on to point out that Sun was in Aries. However, it is clear that he has relied only on the traditional chart and did not bother about details much is evident in earlier slokas when he describes that Rama was born after 10 months of carrying as against Valmiki's version of 12 months. The Gita press version of Balakanda gives the charts of all the three brothers which are traditonaly accepted. However, we hit a hard wall of problem raising in two fold: a) you can not find Sun to be in aries when moon is in punarvasu I pada b) now, sri Chandra sekhar has pointed out that if Sun were to be in Pisces, then it could not abhijit lagna. Let us see how the pundits of this and the other astrology groups will solve this problem. regards, kishore patnaik 98492 70729 On 11/11/07, maheswara_varma <maheswara_varma wrote: > > dear bhaskar ji , > > I am silent memebr of this estemmed forum and many other forums . > > The chart u presented i dont know its in Valmiki ramayana or not ,but > i find in many discussions and writing of Pt.sanjay rath and he was > using mercury in Taurus .The other planetary positions are same . > > And he discuses various dasas like even Moola dasa and arudhas and even > the life of sri ramji is detail with this data .So much exalted planets > and the avtara hood of lord ram and his excile to forest and the curses > he got ,even how it was fruitified tru a servant maid the hunchback > Mandara, and things like that and Venus exlated was showing the greatness > of seetha ji and mars exalted as 5th lord was showing the Valiant sons > and Venus was in 12th from arudha lagna was showing the marital problems > he faced .This was the line of discussions generaly i think and was > satisfiable to a great extent . > > Now i am confused . > > Regrds M varma. > > <%40>, > " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish > wrote: > > > > Dear Kishore ji, > > > > I am giving below one more chart which may or may not > > match as what is written by Sage Valmiki, > > as the Chart of Shri Ramschandra. > > > > Cancer Lagna. > > Moon and Jupiter in Cancer > > Nakshatra can be Punarvasu in this case. > > Saturn in Libra (Exalted) > > Mars in Capricorn (Exalted) > > Venus in Pisces (Exalted) > > Jupiter (Exalted) > > Sun in Aries (Exalted) > > Rahu in Virgo > > (Where is Mercury ?) > > > > Hamsa Yoga, Sasha Yoga and Ruchaka Yoga > > is seen. > > > > Can the above combination be possible in > > a chart or not ? > > > > The problem is that if one condition is met somewhere > > then some other condition would not be met somewhere > > else. > > > > So I take leave of this thread , as not my cup of tea > > to solve this. > > > > regards, > > Bhaskar. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > <%40>, > " kishore patnaik " > > kishorepatnaik09@ wrote: > > > > > > Dear Bhaskar, > > > > > > If we consider only seven planets- sun, mon, mars, mercury , jup, > > venus and > > > saturn for this purpose, > > > you will see that Sun and Mercury can not be in their own or > > exalted houses. > > > However, it is clear that Sun is posited in pisces. > > > > > > That leaves the remaining 5 planets out of which it is clear that > > both > > > jupiter and moon have already > > > fulfilled the criteria. > > > > > > We are to fix the positions of the other planets- namely Mercury, > > Venus, > > > Saturn and mars. > > > > > > Mercury has three options- aqua, pisces and aries > > > Venus has two options- pisces and taurus > > > Saturn has three options- aqua, capricorn and libra > > > Mars has three options- aries, capricorn and scorpio. > > > > > > Now, I hope the problem is clear to you that we have fix the > > positions of > > > the above 4 planets in the signs mentioned above. > > > > > > regards, > > > Kishore patnaik > > > 98492 70729 > > > > > > On 11/10/07, Bhaskar bhaskar_jyotish@ wrote: > > > > > > > > I have tried to calculate Moon in Punarvasu 0-3.20 > > > > and Sun in Aries, by increasing and decreasing the > > > > degrees , but it is impossible to get Navami, in > > > > this combination, though 4 Planets exalted in the > > > > chart is possible, but Mercury will not fit anywhere > > > > to own sign or exalted sign because it has to stay > > > > in either of the next signs to Sun, or in same > > > > sign, and in case even if we take > > > > Sun in Pisces, it is not possible. > > > > So if we take Sun as (Not exalted) then only mercury > > > > qualifies as the 5th planet to get exalted, > > > > which too is impossible . > > > > Thus this remains an enigma. > > > > > > > > For those members who need the Formula to calculate > > > > Tithi - > > > > (Moon degrees - Sun degrees) Divided by (12 Degrees) > > > > Answer + 1 = Janma Tithi. > > > > > > > > Or janma Tithi = previous Tithi + 1. > > > > > > > > Here previous tithi means the answer You got > > > > on Sun - Moon divided by 12 degrees. > > > > > > > > regards, > > > > Bhaskar. > > > > > > > > <%40><% > > 40>, > > > > " Narasimha Rao " <pvr@> wrote: > > > > > > > > > > Dear Tarun, > > > > > > > > > > The source of Lord Rama's horoscope is Valmiki's Ramayana. > > Valmiki > > > > > did not give the entire chart, but laid out the following > > criteria: > > > > > > > > > > (1) Tithi was Chaitra Sukla Navami. > > > > > (2) Nakshatra was Punarvasu. > > > > > (3) Lagna, Moon and Jupiter were in Cancer. > > > > > (4) Five planets were in " swochcha " . > > > > > > > > > > Swochcha is swa+uchcha. Guest guest
Dear Narshimha, u got most of the interpretations as usual (with such a vide resorviour of knowledge u have and share freely without inhibitions) even on Ravi close to Valmikis and Parasara too but we must not forget the Aaroha and Avaroha concept either isn't it! Ravi is procceding towards exaltation from Tula to Mesha and Meena is almost close to it this principle is used when we talk of Purna chandra being 5 days either side of Pournami Chandra isnt it.[esp when we calculate shadbalas] we treat Ravi or other planets in a Exalted sign if it is within the sign; or approaching a exalted sign as also strong and also Own sign is also next best to Uccha in case of Chandra so we must treat ravi as Uccha here and get the required number said by Rishi Valmiki. and possibly in Bhava ravi could have been Uccha! rahu may be a bonus if we have to count it for a Marayada Purusha it is not a factor isnit it a pure materialistic planet like rahu to be on par with other Grahas in mention there. I hope u can dwell on these thoughts too Best wishes On 11/9/07, Narasimha Rao <pvr wrote: > > Dear Tarun, > > The source of Lord Rama's horoscope is Valmiki's Ramayana. Guest guest
Dear Varmaji. I am not following Shri SanjayRathjis discussions or lectures, since I was removed from his Forum long back, but know he is very knowledgable and would certainly like to go through his lectures for enhancimg my knowledge when time permits. I do respect him very much for his contribution to Vedic astrology specially Jamini. Regards to Shri Rams Horoscope, you need not get confused. You just follow what is right for you. We are just mortals with limited span of time on Earth, and have better things to do, rather than discuss on Horoscopes where we may not be able to comprehend many points which do not match on scales of astrological statistics and data, given the present positions of planets with their maximum permissible distances from each other, and also the India of today is very small, which was not so in the olden days. when Ujjain was taken as the base for Indias longitude. In Ramas time only God knows only what were the bases of preparing Horoscopes. regards, Bhaskar. , " maheswara_varma " <maheswara_varma wrote: > > > dear bhaskar ji , > > > > I am silent memebr of this estemmed forum and many other forums . > > > > Regrds M varma. , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish@> > wrote: > > > > Dear Kishore ji, > > > > I am giving below one more chart which may or may not > > match as what is written by Sage Valmiki, > > as the Chart of Shri Ramschandra. > > > > So I take leave of this thread , as not my cup of tea > > to solve this. > > > > regards, > > Bhaskar. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > , " kishore patnaik " > > kishorepatnaik09@ wrote: > > > > > > Dear Bhaskar, > > > > > > If we consider only seven planets- sun, mon, mars, mercury , jup, > > venus and > > > saturn for this purpose, > > > you will see that Sun and Mercury can not be in their own or > > exalted houses. > > > > > > > > <% > > 40>, > > > > " Narasimha Rao " <pvr@> wrote: > > > > > > > > > > Dear Tarun, > > > > > > > > > > The source of Lord Rama's horoscope is Valmiki's Ramayana. Guest guest
Dear Sir, In one group I have seen some one appreciating the 'Swa-uccha' argument (some planets in own house and some in exaltation) given by Kishore ji. He tells that the chart must have been interpolated in Ramayana in BC 157 and tells that the Tropical horoscope for 14 March 157 BC matches well with the description given in Ramayana. The chart given by him is - Nakshatra is Punarvasu and Tithi Navami Moon in Cancer (Own house) Jupiter in Cancer (Exalted) Saturn in Aquarius (Own house) Mars in Capricorn (Exalted) Venus in Taurus (Own house) Sun in Pisces Rahu in Sagittarius Mercury in Pisces Ketu in Gemini (Lagna not given) Total 5 planets are in own house or in exaltation. I don't know he is correct or not. But it supports the initial post of Kishore ji. regards Vijaya raghavan guruvayur , " kishore patnaik " <kishorepatnaik09 wrote: > > Dear VArma and others, > > The chart that was being used by Sanjay rath and others is the chart that is > traditionally ascribed to Sri > Rama. But any way i think i must unwind my brain and look for a village guru who is not corrupted by this new era . Thank u sir for ur time u read my mail and advise. regds M varma. , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > Dear Varmaji. > > I am not following Shri SanjayRathjis discussions > or lectures, since I was removed from his Forum long > back, but know he is very knowledgable and would > certainly like to go through his lectures > for enhancimg my knowledge when time permits. > I do respect him very much for his contribution > to Vedic astrology specially Jamini. > > Regards to Shri Rams Horoscope, you need not > get confused. Guest guest
Dear Vermaji, Please do not feel that you alone have wasted your time Most of us, most of the times, at any given age, when we look back and retrospect, find, that we have wasted many years down the lane, which could have been utilized in better stuff. Regarding anyone banning me from their Forums, it is their power which they use. Let them use their powers and let them do what they feel is right for them. I have a habit of talking straight and fearlessly calling a spade a spade, and not a jade, which puts me in problems many a times, and my language when facing a adversary is not very decent at times, so I do not blame these good men for what ever power they excersise. In the areas where they deserve respect, it will certainly come from me, regardless of other behaviours which I dont mix in those areas where deserving. None of us is perfect and we all have good and bad characteristics and I too would like all to look at my good ones, so why not do unto others what You would have them do unto you. At least with men who are good in most of their traits and characteristics. kind regards, Bhaskar. , " maheswara_varma " <maheswara_varma wrote: > > > dear bhaskar ji . > > Sorry that i replied late . > > I was realy shattered and depressed . > > Think the amount of time and energy i spend on memorising this stupid > cooked up theoreys .Now the chart is not even matching to the very > basics of astrology . > > And i dont know the politics behind banning a learned soul like u from > his groups or any grps .I searched the archives of this group and find > that tho u dont claim to be any big learned man ,ur replies to many > queries are apto and even my stupid brain could understand the > straitness u employ in predictions. > > But any way i think i must unwind my brain and look for a village guru > who is not corrupted by this new era . > > Thank u sir for ur time u read my mail and advise. > > > > regds M varma. > > > > > , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish@> > wrote: > > > > Dear Varmaji. > > > > I am not following Shri SanjayRathjis discussions > > or lectures, since I was removed from his Forum long > > back, but know he is very knowledgable and would > > certainly like to go through his lectures > > for enhancimg my knowledge when time permits. > > I do respect him very much for his contribution > > to Vedic astrology specially Jamini. > > > > Regards to Shri Rams Horoscope, you need not > > get confused.
