Guest guest Posted June 25, 2008 Report Share Posted June 25, 2008 Dear Mr Sunil John, The answers to ur queries are as follows:- [1] A exhalted planet has 100% or 1 Rupa strength to do good, a planet in Mooltrikona has 75% strength to do good, a Swagrahi planet has 50%, a planet in friends sign 25% , while aplanet in neecha or debilitated state has 0% power to do good. [2] A exhalted planet in Dusthanas eg 6th, 8th or 12th loses its result of lordship a little.e.g. Jupiter in cancer in 6th house for aquarius lagna is inferior to Jupiter in Dhanus in 11th house for same lagna.Though Jupiter in exhaltion has 100% strength to do good but dueto placement in 6th house loses its benevolence a bit. [3] Whereas if Neecha planet is in dusthanas without Neechabhanga like Jupiter in Capricorn in 12th housein Kumbha lagna totally annihilates the factors of 2nd & 11th house respectively.The same will create extreme Daridra Yoga like results. [4] Kalidas in Uttarkalamrita opines that Neecha graha in retrogade motion becomes equivalent to Uccha planet.Meaning Margi Jupiter in 12th house in capricorn is very bad but if it is Vakri it behaves as if it were in exhaltion.In these conditions it will not give Daridra yoga features but it will give huge wealth both self earned and acquired and also bank balance.But placement in 12th house will still attract certain minor afflictions to both its lordships. [5] Similiarly exhalted planets when vakri lose their benevolence & behave like debilitated planets. [6] However Sage Parashar opines that Subha Graha Vakri becomes Atisubha.Meaning if natural benefics e.g. Venus , Jupiter & Mercury if become Vakri they become very good.While natural malefics if Vakri become bad. [7] My experience says that Kalidas's version is very appropriate in addition to that one should also see if the concerned planet if Vakri is a aquired benefic like Mars in Cancer & leo lagnas & Saturn in Taurus & Libra Lagnas then it retains its good effects by 50 to 70% here I want to stress on the fact that the lordship of the planet should also be taken into account.
