A New Journal of Astrology by a University

Dept of Jyotisha, KSD Sanskrit University (India) has decided to start

a new journal of astrology Jyotisha Shodha Patrikaa in Hindi , for

which quality contributions are requested. I have been asked by my

friend Dr Radhakant Mishra (Head of Dept as well as of Faculty of

Jyotisha) to get this task accomplished.

 

Anyone can send the contribution to me through email or to the HOD

through post, preferably in Hindi (but some articles in English may be

included even in the Hindi magazine). Rank or degrees of contributors

will not carry any weight, only the quality of contributions will be

valued.

 

It is for the first time that a Sansktit university recognized by govt

has decided to start an astrological magazine. But no funds have been

allocated for this project during the current financial year,

hence no renumeration will be paid to the contributors.

 

An astrological webzine in English may also be launched by the Dept of

Jyotisha of this university. Members of this group (and their

acquaintances) are also requested to send proposals and suggestions

concerning the design, layout, etc of web magazine. Its editorial

board has not been finalized, and knowledgeable persons willing to

give some time may be requested to participate in editing and managing

the webzine.

 

The main purpose of this project is to discuss cardinal problems of

both Ganita(mathematical) and Phalita(predictive) aspects of Vedic

Jotisha, esp with a view to find out best methods suitable for

predictive astrology. All systems of Vedic astrology can be compared

and evaluated with this aim in view. We do not want to focus on mere

theoretical discussions, but are desirous of bringing to light

practical techniques which could be used in individual and mundane

analyses.

 

Article in Hindi sent through email should accompany the font used,

otherwise we may not be able to read it. Persons desirous of more
