Dear Rohiniji,

while going through older postings i

found this interesting. Why only mercury all retrograde planets are a

serious research material.I know that all astrologers are interested in

mercury specially because it is the karaka of astrology.Any way i have

an exalted mercury in lagna with sun in a papakartari yoga in between

exalted saturn and mars and hence my career is a disaster. But the great

saviour jupiter is in 10th making me getting on in life........

Gopi ji,

Absolutely! All retorgrade planets are very interesting because they can bring

into our lives a bit of a different approach, a unique perspective. Now this

does not mean that all individuals will necessarily take advantage of the

retrograde 'lesson', automatically. But is is there in the curriculum of the

current life-plan. It may be a mandatory course or an elective course but that

is another story.

In the chart which you gave a glimpse of other factors too play a role. I

generally avoid looking at a chart piecemeal but since we are discussing and not

involved in a 'reading' situation, it can be pointed out that the following will

have a role or contribution:

Colocation of Sun which is the lord of 12th house

Mars is lord of the 8th and 3rd and hence malefic^2

Saturn is lord of 5th and 6th so perhaps made you work hard for education.

Exalted saturn aspected by jupiter from 10th would provide stability but due to

its aspect on the 4th and being aspected by the lord of 4th and 7th from 10th

would diminish materialistic enjoyment but improve spiritual growth and give the

company of good-hearted people.
