Here the word cunning means that you shouldn't get to be a sucker. It doesn't mean that you become a cheat or some thing like that. being cunning means that you should not be a simpleton. Not accepting gift is an instruction which means that you shouldn't be living on entirely on money etc gifted to you by others. Accepting gifts from say your sasural is not prohibited. You can accept gifts from the places where traditionally it is acceptable. [ 2 ] Mars 10th? You have your mars in the 1st house which moves to the 12th after bahv-spasht. Yes, you should avoid buying property, specially a house, from such Rahu person. Sure you can extend help to such people which will keep your rahu appeased. [ 3 ] There is a difference between milk over boiling and getting onto fire and an upaya. Fire as such is dangerous but a controlled fire is advised to be set in the forests.
