Guest guest
Dear Friends: Here are some thoughts shared about a recent movie that's being made re. Mother Kali, Hindu God...of the Moon! Mark K. Dear All & shivosmyaham: It may be as you say not as well done as you would like, or as reverant. But I have thought for a long time how great it would be to do movies based on the Vedic Puranas or on the Vedic Gods. And I also think it's a positive sign, that hopefully, Mother....Kali, may be portrayed....in a positive light. If the film is being done to make fun of the ritualistic way in which people adore Mother, then of course you'll be right. But, we have an expression, 'buyer beware'. We let the market decide whether something is good or not. And if there are too many people that go and see this for whatever reason, then perhaps it's what people need to see. But, I'd rather see a poor made movie about Mother Kali, then 95% of all the other movies that are out there. Even the poorly made Jesus Christ movies at least made a stab at talking about spirituality. So, here's hopeing that the film does get made. Sorry, to differ. Sincerely, Mark Kincaid > " shivosmyaham " <shivosmyaham > Thu, 19 Feb 2004 17:13:12 -0000 > vedic astrology > [vedic astrology] Please sign the petition; > > Please sign the petition; > > To the Merchant-Ivory Productions: > > It has come to our attention that your next film project, " The > Goddess " will be based upon the Hindu goddess Kali/Shakti Maa... > > According to the media reports about the script of the film `The > Goddess " , you are turning Kali Maa into a musical joke, " dancing and > singing atop of a tiger " .
