All:

My association with Mark goes back a number of months from Jyotish

Remedies. It is very nice to see a great atmosphere in this group.

It is indeed a reflection of Mark;s inner consciousness which is

nothing but the consciousness in all of us.

Way to go Mark!!

I would like to make my first posting on this group on the

word " EGO " . EGO is the True Badhaka to Moksha.

Here are some of my views on letting go of our Ego. They come

from within. Please take a minute to read it. Thanks.

There are million and millions of us standing on the shore of the

ocean of Consciousness, trying to hold it in our cups. We keep

looking at each others cups and comparing our cups and having

arguments about our cups. Some of us feel proud because our cup is

bigger than someone else's and some of us feel jealous because we

feel that someone else's cup is bigger than ours.

What we do not REALIZE is that none of our cups contain the vast

ocean of GOD. If we were to throw our cups into the ocean, if we

were to merge our EGOS into the bliss of GOD then we would no longer

be CRYING and WAILING in our seperate EGO-SENSE. We would be one

with that OCEAN.

When we give up OUR EGO, all that is left is GOD.

Let us all throw our cups into the vast OCEAN of CONSCIOUSNESS.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.

Very nice Mark!!

To give up the ego means to merge it in the bliss of the Self, to

dissolve our smallness into the vastness of Consciousness. When

bubbles arise on the surface of the ocean, they seem to be different

from the ocean, but after a while, the bubbles burst and merge back

into the ocean. In the same way, when our bubble of ego bursts, our

sense of limitation leaves us, we will realize we are nothing but

that Consciousness.

Once the ego leaves, then what is left is the inner Self.

My guru once mentioned that the ego

was the bridge between two people. . . what we present

to have them to think about ourselves. . . what would be your ego

if you were alone out in the woods?

The real question is " How long will it take to get rid of our ego? " .

It is very stubborn.

The answer through my understanding is : As much time as it takes

for us to snap our fingers. The ego is not holding us. We are

holding it.

Once a man went to see King Janaka. He found Janaka

standing under a tree. He had put his elbow on a branch, and he was

resting his head on his hand, thinking about something. The man

asked, " You are Janaka, you are a great king. Not only that, you

have risen above body-consciousness. I want your help to discard my

ego. " Janaka stood there with his arm around the branch and

said , " Brother, just wait. I will answer your question when this

branch lets me go. "

" But the branch is not holding you " , the man said. " You are holding

that branch " .

" You are in the same situation, " said Janaka. " It is you who are

holding onto your ego. You have made ego your friend and you dont

want to let go of it. Now all you have to do is let go of it and you

will be free " .
