Guest guest
Hello Mark, Recently an astrologer told me that any horoscope in which mars and saturn mutually aspect each other (not necessarily 7th vision) spoil the horoscope and relegate it to mediocrity ... what is your take on this? Dear Surya: I find this a very archaic expression of old, limited Jyotish. In truth, we're meant to grow out of our limitations or weaknesses. My own contribution to Jyotish, is that our malefics, don't just represent our challenges or problems but, they also represent the very areas in which we're supposed to grow! If you were to go to an Ayurvedic doctor, he'd never say, you'll never get out of your pitta, problems! No, he'd say, you need to balance your pitta, and as you do this, then the pitta erruptions you're experienceing will diminish. But, I understand why these kinds of expressions get made. For many out of balance, or malefic functioning Mars certainly does reflect many problems especially in relations. The same kind of problems can be found for those who have Mars & Saturn in the same house, conjunct. But, the tension here, the rub, or the lesson to learn is how to balance or create more coordination between the silent, Saturn side of life, and the active, or dynamic side. Those who have these kinds of malefics, report that they have a kind of push, pull, tension between going and staying that frustrates them very much. However, I've told those individuals, that this is the nature of their problem and then, I give prescriptions to better enliven these two important aspects of life; ie. Saturn and Mars, and immediately this problem can be improved. Hope this helps Sincerely, Mark K. surya vishnubhotla <surya_prakashv Mon, 4 Jul 2005 05:36:57 -0700 (PDT) Ave!
