Dear Surya:

Remember one most important thing, and that is:

" Our planets are just symbolic of ourselves. "

The Sun represents our selves, 'I', and egos.

Our Moon's represent the emotional part of us.

Mercury represents our Intellects.

So, as we improve those planets we're really enlivening and strengthening those

parts of us.

Self-improvement is a very exciting and important part of life.

And, Jyotish has such a special slant on how to do that.

The Planets are like these great 'switches' that can help us facilitate change!

take care

Mark K.

Mark,

Thanks for the explanation .. another question that

comes to my mind is ... do we have to keep reinforcing

these modifications all our lives?

Or only when the dasa sets in? .. I have only seen

people trying to appease planets when a particular

dasa sets in ... but the fact remains that the planet

is always there in some part of our personality ...

so then is your method of modification aimed at

permanently altering that part of our personality that

a particular planet represents or to look for

modifications based on the ills that set in in a

particular dasa?

I find your views very enlightened .. thanks for ur

time !

Surya:

Forgot to anaswer your question about dasas.

The dasas represent the time periods where we're going to experience either,

the positives (benefics)of our charts, or the negatives, (or malefics).

Most people think the dasas, then, will either be black or white, like that.

However, I've also realized that the negative or malefic dasas, aren't just

about experiencing the karmic repercussions of our mistaken, malefics, they

also represent the opportunities to grow in these ways.

And, as I've learned this, it's even allowed me to experience more positively,

dasa periods, that used to be negative!

For example, I used to have a hard time with both Saturn & Moon dasas or

transits.

This of course, is probably due to my Moon & Saturn being together in my 12th

house, but also because my Moon was so small, with the Sun, in the 11th.

For a long while, I experienced every new Moon period as a great loneliness,

and emptyness, and it wasn't till I learned how to rest more during that most

inward part of the Moon's cycles, that, that energy stopped being so negative.

Same way with my Saturn. As I learned how to be more in-tune with Saturn,

then, it's transits and even dasas, became more tolerable, and then, eventually

more enjoyable, till, today, where I really love these Saturn, inward, times,

as great opportunities..

ciao

Mark
