Guest guest
Dear Group Members: Here is the basic data 7/30/1950 12:46 EDT Cleveland, Ohio Virgo rising/ ketu and neptune in the first house mars in the 2nd house (libra) jupiter and moon in the 6th in aquarius Rahu in the 7th in Pisces Venus in the 10th house(gemini) Sun in the 11 house (and pluto too) in Cancer mercury and saturn in the 12th house (leo) I began studying western astrology formally in 1972. Had been working for some people as a nanny-one of their good friends was an astrologer. When my employer/friend decided that she wanted to learn astrology, the astrologer suggested that she start with my chart. My employer worked out a basic chart and handed it to the astrologer-who then responded by simply looking at the rising sign " No, recalculate...that would not be Laura's correct rising sign " ... The astrologer was correct and I was hooked for life!!! I studied art history for many years...got a degree and then attended graduate school in two different programs in art history. However, I always worked in hospitals/institutions/medical areas while I was in school. In 1977 I switched progams and entered the School of Social Welfare at the university of kansas. Got an MSW in 1980. Since then I have worked either in hospice or the mental health fields. in terms of the vedic chart, I guess that venus in the 10th would point to art and the moon/jupiter in the 6th- medical/helping field. Also the ruler of the chart is in the 12th...institutions. After discovering the Vedic tradition I had my chart done by two different vedic astrologers. It was unnerving how accurate and more specific the vedic was in comparison to the western. Slowly have been trying to learn that system. just an interesting note: In august I was reading the various posts on the different lists and noticed that Jupiter and Ketu would make a conjunction in my first house. I thought about it and wondered what that might possibly mean...on august 20th I experienced a cerebral hemorrhage (neptune is 21 degrees of Virgo natally). It was certainly 'neptunian " in nature!! I had incredible care at the hospital but no one can really figure out why this happened in a medical sense...no hypertension. in fact, people would say " she is the healthiest person I know! " . Things are better every day. But being an intellectual type(more or less), it has really made me refocus on more mundane issues. I did not have any fabulous mystical experiences (darn)...but do remember thinking " I wonder if they will have to shave my head in a punk style or the more Bruce Willis look? " Now that really is mundane!! There is my story...not much else to tell. I have three large dogs and do alot with the local kennel club-am one of the local people who do " Siberian Husky Rescue " . I also have a son, age 25. And my chart definitely fits my life. Laura
