Guest guest
Hi Amy: Ran across your Winter blog comment here today regarding Winter. I know what you mean. Like many other people, I too, generally have greatly disliked Winter! But, over the last few years, I've come to understand, as you intimated, that there is an intrinsic goodness to Winter as well! This is when I began to realize that Winter is Saturn! Did you see my article on " Saturn is Winter " I wrote awhile back? I've also realized that those of us who especially dislike Saturn probably have some important work to do with Saturn. Also, Ayurveda has some interesting things to say regarding the natural cycles of the seasons. We have the natural pitta cycles of spring and summer and the cool fall and winter greatly balance the excessive heat of the earlier times. When I realized this a few years ago, I began letting myself even more fully fill up with the heat of the summer, knowing that the Winter would come to relieve me of that. And for the last few years, that helped a lot. The thing that's helped the most however, is correlating Winter with Saturn and since I've wanted to grow within Saturn's nature, this has inspired me to try and find the goodness within Winter! Finally, the last thing that's helped me, is realizing whenever I experience any of the negative consequences of any of the Planets, I take this as a 'sign' that, that planet is temporarily acting malefically, and I need to increase the Knowledge and Wisdom of that planet. So, when I find myself in a Saturn negative moment, feeling either impatient, out of balance, cold or depressive, I take a breath, and relax, embracing the Silence that is temporarily lacking in my experience. Winter, in truth is a wonderful opportunity to work on one's inner life. Winter is the time, when the roads are clogged up, icy, like now, and the sky is gray. But, that gray sky is very conducive to extra rest, meditating, being more inward and being more focused on my inner development. There will be plenty of time to be dynamic and active come the spring time. But, now is a golden opportunity to bask in the beauty and the sublime special qualities of Saturn! Nice talking with you!
