Guest guest
Hi Mark, I would like to know if is correct to analyse or consider Rahu dasa like Saturn dasa? Are the effects similar? Thank you Paulo Dear Paulo: Traditional Jyotish says that Rahu is similar to Saturn. However, practical experience shows the subtle differences too.Typically, Saturn represents balance so when out of balance, then, delays, frustrations and losses do result. These unique Saturn experiences are really 'signs' that we've gotten out of balance with Saturn!Rahu's classic signature is frustrations, but eventually you may finally acquire that 'thing' that you were so rigorously wanting during the Rahu period. But, then, at the end one losses that very same thing!hence, the big unique Rahu experience. In both cases, nature is trying to teach us how to act, desire and live within balance. In fact it's not even Rahu or Saturn that are causing these negative results! It's our actions, our thoughts and our choices, not previously knowing how to be enough in balance, we get ourselves in trouble. Then, 'life' gives us these natural consequences of our actions whether Rahu or Saturn based; and then we get their results. When you're in Rahu you'll find that all kinds of intense, even compulsive, obsessive and addictive flavors of desire dominate.Whereas in Saturn we may be wanting things but there isn't always that Rahu charge about them!We do notice, however, that in Saturn we get delayed or disappointed that our desires aren't coming true more quickly!Rahu teaches us to desire within balance and without addictive vibration!and Saturn teaches us to desire within silence....So, you can see how similar they are though their lessons can be subtly different as well. What I recommend with Rahu is not letting our desires get the best of us, or obsess compel us, or dictate to us!With Saturn I recommend putting attention on creating more balance each day!In the case of Rahu, with more inner calmness, desires will come but they won't pull us off our Self!In the case of Saturn, putting attention on creating more inner balance, we'll have desires and they'll get fulfilled without a lot of fuss or commotion!Hope this helps...Mark Kincaidwww..commarkkincaid
Guest guest
Paulo... What I've heard (hard to test it out exactly) is that the Rahu period and the Ketu period will be like the period of their dispositors. Also, I don't personally think that a dasa is good or bad depending on whether or not the planet is malefic or benefic, but rather what it's doing in the individual chart. For example, if someone had Saturn in Libra, in the 9th house and well aspected, Saturn dasa would be good, if Jupiter were in Capricorn in the 8th house and afflicted by malefics, Jupiter period would be bad. I've been in Saturn major dasa for quite a few years and it's been a mixed bag. I have S in Gemini (sign of Mercury, a friend to S). It rules 8th and 9th (one malefic house, one benefic house), it's in the 1st, which is 5th (benefic) to the house it rules. It has no aspectss except for a backwards square (weak compared to forward square) from Sun, Neptune, Mercury, and a trine from Venus. Also, Mercury, S's dispositor, is exalted and angular. Soooo.....don't think just cuz you're in a malefic's period it will be all horrible. .....Bettina On Behalf Of markkincaidSent: Friday, June 13, 2008 12:14 PM Subject: 2-Paulo: re.....Rahu dasa? and compared to Sani?
