Guest guest
Hi Mark, I have questions about the following quotes from the Stars calendar for today and tomorrow. Fri Oct 23 - " Find the houses that each of the debilitated planets are in and see if you feel their unique experiences flowing through your chart. " As a beginner I often have difficulty applying your daily notes to my birth chart. In this case what houses does " Find the houses " refer to? Is it the houses in my chart or the houses in today's chart? Hi Paul: You know, you ask really good questions! I'm almost done with an answer to that first very long list of qeustions! Great! As far as " finding the house " means finding the house in YOUR chart. So, Sun's in Libra now, the #7 in the Northern Indian Jyotish style chart. But, when I refer to " finding 'that' in your chart " that means find the Libra in your personal chart, and that'll show you which House the Sun/Libra is transiting for YOU! Example 1: Today Sun is considered " malefic or " debilitated " because it is in Libra. And, today, they (both Sun and Libra) are in the 1st house which relates to " the self, body, personality and appearance " . I looked up Friday's description and my expression is about the Sun. What you're projecting or looking at is the chart on each page. Remember what I said earlier in the book, these charts on each day, are made from 9am, central time zone, (ie. in Fairfield, Iowa), but as you say next, you have to find the LIbra in your chart. On my chart Libra is in the 12th house of " expenditures and enlightenment " with only Venus, while Sun is in the 1st house with Scorpio (with Mercury). How do I read this? Is the 1st,12th house important here? Why, because of the day's chart or my chart? So, here you have the right idea. You've found your Libra in your 12th house, where you also have your Natal Venus there? So, distinguish between your birth chart and the Transits charts. Every day, the Transits are moving about, and you can make a 'chart' for any day and any moment of any day. BUT, THE SIGNIFICANCE FOR EACH ONE OF US... is how do these Transits 'affect' us! In the beginning don't worry your intellect too much. Just try to continue experiencing things, as you said in your earlier emails. How does it 'feel' for you, you having the transiting Sun, transiting Libra in your 12th house. As you get more experiences, you'll learn to perceive these very real shifts. Also, I suggest you focus first on the Moon, because it's the easiest heavenly body to perceive and follow. Partly this is because the Moon is moving so often, and also, because it's effects go right into our own Moon's where we feel and try to understand. Example 2: Today Venus is considered " malefic " or " debilitated " because it is in Virgo. And, today, they (both Venus and Virgo) are in the 12th house which refers to " expenditures and enlightenment " . But on my chart Venus is in the 12th house (alone) and Virgo is in the 11th house (no planets). How do I read this? -If you notice, in each day's descriptions I rarely refer to " the Houses " . This is because there are 12 Risnig Sign types and for each one, the transits will be affecting their charts or houses, differently. Today, Venus, Saturn and Mercury are all in Virgo. What you're mixing up, is the chart example in the book, is for 9am, Fairfield, Iowa time, which puts Libra on the rising and Virgo in the 12th. But, as you say, in your chart, you've got your Virgo in your 11th House. So, read it this way. On this day, Venus is transiting Virgo, which means for you, having a Scorpio rising, that Venus is transiting YOUR 11th House! Right? Sat Oct 24 - " The Malefics that are in so-called benefic houses, like the 4th, 5th, 9th, and 10th, will be less negative than those malefics that are coursing through the weaker houses like, 6th, 8th & 12th. " 1. How can a house be considered " benefic " or " weaker " without considering what sign or planets are in them? In general, Jyotish considers certain Houses as more malefic than others. What this means, is that malefic qualities are expressed to the person because of the issues and goings on in our 6th, 8th and 12th houses. But, if someone has a planet in its Own Sign or Exalted in one of these, so-called malefic houses, than the results are NOT malefic and instead benefic. For example, I have my Jupiter in Pisces in my 6th House. And, Jupiter's supposed to be good (Own Sign) in Pisces. Therefore, in my chart, the Lord of the 6th is in the 6th, and intestingly enough, my health (6th house quality) has always been very strong. On the other hand, I have Moon and Saturn in the 12th, which is described as a definite malefic siutation, and I have often had the worse examples of this malefic situation, shyness, emotional sensitivity, and depression. But,l of course, I was attracted to meditation too, and each day that's gone by, as literally, transformed the malefic ness of my 12th house also, into something wonderful or benefic! See, what I mean? 2. " those malefics that are coursing through them " - " malefics " - Do you mean planets that are malefic while in the sign which occupies that house? " them " - Are you referring to the house in today's chart or in our natal chart? Jyotish defines 'MALEFICS' as any planet that's not expressing it's higher, more positive side. Sometimes this means a planet will be acting malefically because of the sign that it's in, in one's chart. So, if someone has their Venus in Virgo in their 10th House, that's a so-called good house for Venus, but a terrible or malefic sign. So, the prediction is the negative side of Venus will dominate. On the other hand, someone who has their Venus Exalted in the 6th, 8th or 12th house, is likely to experience the real positive side of Venus because it's Exalted, even though it's in the more malefic Houses. Read James Braha for a nice description of planets in the different Houses. He even has some interesting exceptions to planets in the various houses. So, he'll describe what it's like 'in general' to have each planet in each house, but then, he goes into more detail about what it might be like if 1) that planet is 'fallen' or weak in its sign of debilitation, and then, he expresses, how the effects will be different, if the Plane is positive in a good sign, or Exalted. See, what I mean? Thanks Mark! PS - The most inspiration quote from you this week was: " it won't be for a number of years " when referring to the next cycle of so many debilitated planets at once. Amddddd, even more importantly, is we all get to a point, where we're so much more developed on the inner, where NOTHING, no bad vibration from Nature, the stars or the transits, throws us off. The famous Indian yogi, Yogananda, said in his Autobiography, in answer to someone's question about Astrology: " Find me the worst day for me and my chart in this upcoming year, and I will accomplish anything on that day! " I love that quote. NOW, that's conscousness Astrology! Mahairishi has said similar things: " Don't take your chart seriously, like it's written in stone, it's just the state of your Physiology at birth! " I love that one too! That really affected me a lot, not to take the stars, either in my chart, or Transits as fixed or fated, but as karmic, and especially, as opportunites for self-growth or self-development. I LIKE TO REMIND PEOPLE... Use the Transits as a 'guide' for you to figure out how strong and balanced you are! Any day or time where you experience ANY negative experience, is the Transits way of showing you how balanced, you are with that planet! So, if you feel rough every month during the New Moon or when the Moon collides with Saturn, this is Nature's way of shwoing you some of your malefic planets and you should be inspired by this, to practice remedies of either Moon, Saturn or both, until that 'roughness' goes away! And, then, the next month, the 'sign' that you've actually improved your plaenets will be that you DON'T experience the negative of even such transits as the New Moon, or Moon & Saturn collissions! take care Mark Kincaid Jai Guru! markkincaid www..com ----------- Paul Winer, MBA, PMC 641-451-5677 www.FairfieldProfessionals.com www.finda.com/winer
