Guest guest
Transit Newsletter "Benefic Influences" Dear Friends, We seem to spend so much time reflecting on the "Malefic" influences that seem to go on so often, I thought it might be fun, today, to reflect on the `positive' or Benefic ones. Today, I awoke with such a sense of joy, of all possibilities, excitement and optimism I could hardly wait to get out of bed. My first thought was because my 2nd book is coming out soon and, so many people really loved the first one, so I'm feeling this tremendous `joy' of dharmic, success and happiness. But, then, I looked at my Transits book of 2009, (you know its so fun to have made that book for even myself, because instead of always having to make a copy of `tomorrow', now I just look it up in my book) anyway, I looked at the chart of `now' and lo and behold there was almighty Jupiter looking right at the Moon! Right now, the Moon's at the 25th degree of Taurus, which as many of you already know is Exalted in Jyotish. And, Jupiter's at the 23rd degree of Capricorn, which is of course quite a bit away from Taurus. But, there is this rule in Jyotish, that Jupiter is supposed to aspect or `influence' anything 5 signs or houses away from where it is. This means, from Capricorn, Jupiter fully aspects Taurus this year. The `way' you count aspects is you first count the sign that the planet is already in as #1, and then, you go 2, into the next sign, 3, the next and so on. So, if Jupiter in Capricorn is #1 then, Aquarius is 2, Pisces is 3, Aries is 4 and Taurus is #5! And, practical experience shows that each planet's influences are strongest at their exact degrees. So, Jupiter's exact degrees means that `right now' Jupiter is casting its strongest influence upon the same degree in Taurus. And, because the Moon is so close to those exact degrees of Jupiter, we're now, right now, receiving the strongest `flavor' or positive influence from Jupiter. Well, what do you know. We can experience the positive benefic Transits as well as the negative! Another thing you hear sometimes from traditional Jyotishees is that the `house' that a planet is in, is in some way, more important than the sign. I've always wondered about that, because my experience is that the `Sign' is extremely important in Astrology. But, today's experience is a classic example of exactly how this might be true. Because not only is Jupiter supposed to be aspecting the 5th House or Sign away from where it is, it's also in its `sign' of debilitation which you'd think would negate quite a bit its normally positive contribution. So, my innocent experience this morning shows me, that Jupiter's influence is still extremely positive in spite of the 'sign' that its in. This is what I love the most about watching the Transits. Each day we can verify and validate these great Jyotish rules and principles as we find them alive and working in our lives. Here's hoping that your next 24 hours is supremely blessed by the intelligence, optimism and `good luck' of Jupiter-Guru!
