Guest guest
Dear Lilly, Tarun and all, You bring up some valid points. I remember when I first started studying Jyotish, I came across this passage in Parshara's Hora Astrology book. I'm paraphrasing but he said basically: "If you do Astrology poorly...." you'll come back as the worst kind of toad! So, that cautioned me to do Astrology very profoundly. Then, my Guru used to say: "You all don't know enough to be critical, so instead be uplifting nourishing and inspiring!" And, finally, when I came back India in 1987 having studied both Ayurvda and Jyotish, over the next year I ran into probably 20 people who told me of their false predictions by each of the major or most well known astrologers in the world, at that time. That experience, made me feel perhaps, that 'predictions' were not as well perfected as they could be. Because I also met some, who's charts had been predicted extremely well. Anyway, instead I focused on how one's personality and strengths and weaknesses can be accurately described in each person's Astrology char. Because I'd already found that 'my chart' really did fit m, to a tee. So, I focused on studying the charts of others. First I found that my family members fit their charts. Then, I found that all my friend's charts seemed to give keen insight into them, too. Then, I focused on my acquaintances which brought up my 'charts' to about 100. But, it wasn't until I learned how Astrology and most espcially, Jyotish fit over 500 people who's charts I did, that really convinced me that Jyotish, really works. Over the years, however, I too came across a lot of people who 1) don't pursue it correctly or 2) don't apply Astrology in a profound way. There is a limit, by the way as to how much one should invest in ANYONE else! Even modern day Psychologists, have discovered, if they only help their patients, stay chained to them, then, they are also only dis-enabling them! Astrology, then, should be self-healing. Over the last 23 years, I've not been able to afford much readings from 'other' people, but I did find that every day, my chart fit me more and more accurately. How well do you both know your own charts, by the way? We each should be understanding our complete charts. There is an undeniable, 'awakening' quality that happens within, when on learns ones own chart more and more. The Vedic ideal, by the way, is to teach others, how to find their own true selves! Even in the West, Christ was supposed to have said: "I'm not here, just to give a person a fish, but to teach them to fish!" So, everything you both say, is correct. Only, that doesn't diminish at all, Jyotish's natural ability to help people, #1) see themselves more purely, and #2) also help people evolve, and get better by practicing important Vedic remedies and remedial measures! Hope this helps. Sincerely, Mark Kincaid www..com markkincaid Desperate people seek Astrologers! @ . Com Sunday, February 14, 2010, 4:26 PM Why do we believe in astrology? Because many people believe that someone else has the answers to the problems they are facing in their lives. These people are usually weak and have come to a point where they stop believing in themselves and the power they have over their own lives. They don't believe in themselves and their own abilities. It's sad. Please stop wasting your hard-earned money on astrology! I have spend enough of my money and I'm ready to stop. Every astrologer I have known and paid good money for readings have made false claims. They are all money-grubbing crooks that prey on desperate people. Save your money and help yourself!! I have actually lost belief in my capabilities. A boy who was once happy about everything he was doing.... filled with confidence about making his own life..... has now suddenly becomes a man who just can not believe himself...A man who now thinks that whatever he is going to do, the result will be a failure..... Above all people on this group has never ever replied even after posting my query again and again
