Guest guest
Dear Members: I just missed one important thing in my previous post...... Though I have said that " let us not associate it with sani preethi, sani parihaaram, etc. " there is no harm in doing those activities also. I only meant to say that day is not very special to sani deva. However, by temple traditions, Sani amavasya is celebrated as an important day at Sani Singhapur. That is according to temple tradition and has its own value. But, I again reiterate.....let us not get into a frenzy on matters like these in an unfounded manner as this will ultimately lead to disillusion in life. These vrattams should be adhered to mainly as per dharmic guidelines and restricting oneself to Aswatta pooja on that day will be best in my opinion. Of course, if someone wants to do Shani preeti, this day is as good as any other Saturday. Those who perform Aswatta pooja for improvement of family can chant the following mantra: " Om Aayur balam yasho varchah prajaah pasoovasooni cha Brahma Pragnyaam cha medhaam cha tvam no dehi vanaspate " " Moolato Brahmroopaaya madhyato vishnuroopine agratah shiva roopaaya vruksharaajaayate namah " These two are actually a part of a bigger Divya Sthothram on Aswatta. Touching the Aswatta tree diminishes all sins (but of course, as stated earlier it should be touched only on Sani Amaavasya; that is the speciality of Sani Amavasya pooja for aswatta tree). May our members get all benefits by this. Blessed be. Pandit R.DAKSHINAMOORTHI. vedic astrology , " dakshinastrologer " <dakshinastrologer wrote: > > Dear Members: > > What Shri.
