AATHREYA - GANGA MAATHA

Ganga means potable water ; means Holy River.

Ganga is Mother of All Holy Rivers in Bhaarath .

Ganga is Mother of all the rivers of the world.

Ganga is originally born from the feet of Vishnu

as Brahma is washing Vishnu's feet. Ganga is

the River of Sathya Lok brought to Earth for the

benefit of humanity by Bhageeratha , though his

original purpose is to obtain salvation for his

ancestors 1000 sons of Sagara who died as a

result of their unintentional insult to Kapila Muni.

Ganga is known as Bhaageerathi. At the

request of Bhageeratha , Shiva agreed to

receive Ganga on His head and slowly release

Ganga in Himalayas. Ganga is also known as

Jaahnavi after the name of Jahnu Muni whose

aashram She inundated.

All Rivers that flow east are Nadis as Ganga is.

All Rivers that flow west are Nadams as Narmada.

Gangaa Snaane Punarjanma Navidyathe =

who so ever bathes in Ganga will not be reborn.

Om Gange , Yamene, Saraswathi , Sindhu,

Brahmaputhra, Mahaanadi, Narmada , Thapathi,

Godaavari, Krishna , Cauveri , Penna ,Thunga-

Bhadra Ithyaadi PuNya Nadi-Nadayo Jalesmin

Sannidhim Kuru. = May The Waters Of All The

Above Mentioned Holy Rivers Bless All.
