Guest guest
Respected Gurus, WHich is the best book on horary astrology for a beginner? I am not looking at complex book but rather simple book (easy to understand) like PVR Rayudu. From market, I found that 2 books exist: one by M Ramakrishna Bhat and another by RG Rao. WHich one do the learned gurus recommend for a beginner like me? (I know BV Raman also has written a book but that may not be easy to understand) Jai Gurudev! Guest guest
*hare rama krsna* Dear Jyotisha , Namaskar Dont be afraid, just purchase 'Prasna Marga' by BV Raman. Dr Kapoor also wrote good book, I think Prashna Shastra or similar title. And three: Try to get Sanjay Rath mp3 from London about Prashna. There are other ways, but I recommend this one. Guest guest
Dear Gurujans, To be on books...Besides Mr Rao's an " Integrated Approch... " , I have Mr Raman's " How to judge a Horoscope " I & II. Mr. Rao recommends use of Divisional Charts but also recommends to read Mr. Ramans-How to judge a Horoscope. Mr. Raman in his book uses only Rasi and Navamsa. How do I, as a beginner, go about it. For eg. in Mr. Ramans book, Vol. II " About the 10th House " , would it be alright to go to D 10 in Jhora and read the text in Mr. Ramans book?? With warm regards Bobby rafal <starsuponme wrote: *hare rama krsna* Dear Jyotisha , Namaskar Dont be afraid, just purchase 'Prasna Marga' by BV Raman. Guest guest
Shree Ganeshaya Namah, Dr. Raman never used divisional charts and followed his own Raman ayanasma for timing the event. This has been disputed by majority of astrologers including KN Rao. What you could learn from Raman's book is the systematic way he envisages on factors for consideration like Rasi lord, it's placement, the aspects on the bhava, etc. and the strenght in Navamsa. You may begin with that pattern for finding strength and weakness of planets/houses etc. However I beleive using divisional charts along with Lahiri ayanamsa will help gain more accuracy in timing the events and is therefore more popularly used. Dr. Raman may have had other ways of verifying or cross checking his event predictions of which we may not have knowledge or capability to use. Dr. Raman's is good reading initially but better to follow the Sage Parashara's teachings. Any way lot of reading on various books is required before you can actually begin to understand the way this sceince works. Wish you all best (hope I have not confused you too much). regards Hanmant vedic astrology , Bobby Mehrotra <bobbyusd wrote: > > Dear Gurujans, > To be on books...Besides Mr Rao's an " Integrated Approch... Guest guest
Dear Hanmant ji, Thank you for your reply. Yes I do understand, that a lot of reading and comprehending would be required before anything meaningful happens to me...No, you have not confused me...but I still have a query....the chart analysis appears to be in contradiction to what Mr. Rao teaches. I should, therefore, concentrate more on the text related to different houses in the two volumes....and for the time being ignore the chart analysis pertaining to different houses in the two volumes of Mr. Raman. Is this what you would advise??? Else I do not know how best to use the chat analysis given for different houses in the two volumes. Guest guest
Shree Ganeshaya namaha The basic principles of chart analysis remains same as Dr. Raman has used. However what PVR Narsimaha(SJC) or KN Rao do is use more specific add-on features like Rashi drishti, chara dasha, etc. (Dr. Raman never talks of this). The initial reading of Dr. Raman's book will give you an idea of who is natural benefic, natural karakas, who becomes functional benefics and malefics based on different lagnas and how look if the effects of various Grahas in different bhavas. I find KN Rao's teaching excercises more effective though Dr. Raman uses a very simple and user freindly language. You may want to refer to KN Rao basic books like " learn astrology without tears " . Again I am not recommending any particluar book but do go through materials/postings on the web and if possible get hold of books and pick the one which suits your learning(manah) the most. May Ganesha guide you. regards Hanmant PS: Pls. do not use " Ji " . vedic astrology , Bobby Mehrotra <bobbyusd wrote: > > Dear Hanmant ji, > Thank you for your reply.
