CBC News

LUNENBURG, N.S. - A state of emergency has been declared by municipal officials

in the Lunenburg area of Nova Scotia.

Residents have been

advised to brace for more rain following a record-setting deluge in recent

days.

More than a dozen

roads and bridges are closed, people are being urged to go to higher ground,

and about 60 houses have been cut off by rising water.

Emergency shelters

have been opened at two fire halls in the Bridgewater area.

The Petite Riviere is

swollen and raging through communities.

In the past four days,

the south shore of Nova Scotia has been hit hard by torrential rain.

In parts of Nova Scotia,

248 millimetres of rain has fallen so far this month, more than double the

monthly average

The wet weather is

also affecting other parts of the Maritimes.

On P.E.I. cold, wet

weather has put farmers behind schedule, and spring has had a slow start in New Brunswick.

And there's no sign of

improvement. The forecast is calling for more rain over the next few days.

Dear Jorge:

With all due respect, I do not understand how invoking the Canada

chart to support the wet weather in Nova Scotia makes any sense.

Canada, as you are surely aware, covers an extremely large land mass.

This weather pattern is not the same for any other part of the country

except Nova Scotia. I would think this transit pattern could be used

to support the chart of Nova Scotia rather than Canada as a whole.

Respectfully and with my best wishes, Chuck

Dear Chuck,

You are right when you say that this particular transit could be used to

rectify the chart of Nova Scotia. But this event will also appear in the

chart of Canada, as it is having an affect in the whole country. If some

" disease/abnormality " comes in a particular part of any entity (person,

country, etc.) we should be able to see it in the chart of that entity.

Best wishes,

Jorge
