Dear Sanjay & All:

Now, this is really getting to the nitty gritty of the whole thing...

Re: EGO -- Letting Go.

The real question is " How long will it take to get rid of our ego? " .

It is very stubborn.

The negatives of ego, the small identification of ego, the small self of ego...

can be transcended at any moment...

And though you can say it is stubborn,.... it only needs to be shown the door of bliss...

and it can be found settling right down!

The answer through my understanding is : As much time as it takes

for us to snap our fingers. The ego is not holding us. We are

holding it.

There is this description in my Maharishi's book on the bhagavad gita,....

One time when I was researching the 'I',...or 'will',....I was wondering if I could find some interesting references in his book...

And I came across this passage:

" Until a seeker of truth, gets tired of doing his own way; knowledge never comes. "

And I thought wow, how profound!

We do have 'wills'....and until we learn how to integrate our 'wills'....with The, or Our,...

higher will!

we'll continue being stuck,....in stuborness, smallness...or 'ego'....

Once a man went to see King Janaka. He found Janaka

standing under a tree. He had put his elbow on a branch, and he was

resting his head on his hand, thinking about something. The man

asked, " You are Janaka, you are a great king. Not only that, you

have risen above body-consciousness. I want your help to discard my

ego. " Janaka stood there with his arm around the branch and

said , " Brother, just wait. I will answer your question when this

branch lets me go. "

" But the branch is not holding you " , the man said. " You are holding

that branch " .

" You are in the same situation, " said Janaka. " It is you who are

holding onto your ego. You have made ego your friend and you dont

want to let go of it. Now all you have to do is let go of it and you

will be free " .

But, there's another aspect here which needs to be considered....

and that is...that mental states, like ego, or transcended ego....

these....come from states of Physiology....

And until we learn to refine, and improve our Mental & Physical.... Psychologys & Physiologys, then, we'll remain 'stuck'....

The key is to open ourselves.... to our unbounded, .... 'I', 'self', or even 'ego'....

In becoming Cosmic....we leave all problems...behind...

Ego...is represented by the Sun, in Jyotish...

If you can follow that ice berg down to the bottom....

at the very bottom, at the deepest point of our individuality, you can find our small ego...

So, we can put our 'Suns' there...

but... the Sun also represents our higher self, unbounded identify, and therefore unbounded egos!!

So, the Sun.... then,....represents...transcendence....

So, the circle of our Suns, can be put over both the bottom of the iceberg....

and it's transcendental level...where all the icebergs...become one...

and when we learn to transcend....ourselves....

and find that unbounded, eternal....self..... ego....

then, we go beyond the limitations...of the small self...and small ego....

Then the Sun becomes truely....Benefic....

as it is...connected...to the eternal Self, I, ego of God...or the Universe....
