Ego is such a fascinating... topic....

to me, however, it's like every other aspect of life, and Jyotish...

It is a natural quality....of human existence....

and it can be either.... strong,...or weak.... misused...or balanced......

Re: Re: EGO -- Letting Go.

My guru once mentioned that the ego

was the bridge between two people. . . what we present

to have them to think about ourselves. . . what would be your ego

if you were alone out in the woods?

I'd venture....it would be the same...

our 'egos'....are how we experience ourselves....

are we this body....with an 'I'.... stuck inside.....?

are we here, and you are there....?

are we a human body,....and separate from others, even in the forest?

Or....

are we also....something....

an 'I'..... a nature....

an existence.... which is more grand...then just a small, puny ego....

My own experience, tells me that my 'I'....is a tip on an iceberg...

and at the top,...it sees itself as separate from the other icebergs....

and reflects individual ego....

but...as I goes within....

I begin to experience...this powerful....expansion of my 'I'....

and at some point realize....that 'I'....am connected to all the other icebergs...

and we're all a part of the same, underlieing......field...

We can describe...the 'ego' as leaving....

and maybe this means...the limited, small, self,....quality....leaves...

but... my experience...has also been.... that there's no real leaving..

but an arriving...and finding....at such superior....wonder and bliss....

All that really needs to be 'left'....is our ignorance...

same...

How could that be? . . . .Many hermits have no ego to speak of.

With no-one to boast over how can there be an ego?

our

'egos'....are how we experience

ourselves....

Interesting viewpoint.

are we this

body....with an 'I'.... stuck

inside.....?

Actually, we are never the same " I " even a few minutes from

now.

Our " selves " are a lot like a hotel. . . each person in charge

of a

specialized unit forever changing and taking charge over the other's

duties.

We're chaotic inside!

Many of us have experienced the situation where we agree to do

something then a few days later we wish we didn't

make the commitment in the first place.

are we here,

and you are there....?

Of course not.

are we a

human body,

The body is a result to an event

.....and

separate from others, even in the

forest?

We would " feel " and identify with " separateness, "

with no one to

talk with, the ego would dissolve. . . why do you think Monks

live in cloisters and take a vow of silence?

So the ego will wilt because that's what it does

without the ability to boast.

Or....

Manipulating the conversation here. :-)

are we

also....something....

an 'I'..... a nature....

There is an identity by which the physical, mental and emotional

bodies

experience the physical world. . . not necessarily the " I " . . .

like leaves

on the tree, all are one, like the tree rooted in the ground, all are

one.

Like the ground, it's everywhere. . . the unity of all isn't involved

with

the boastfulness and foolishness of the " ego " because it

doesn't exist

save through the eyes of another human being who has instructed

yet another human being to observe the " rules " here on boogey

street.

No other living creature brags about its existence or worships

another of its kind long past. . . save humanity.

an

existence.... which is more grand...then just a small, puny

ego....

Manipulating the conversation again ;-)

My own

experience, tells me that my 'I'....is a tip on an iceberg...

and at the top,...it sees itself as separate from the other

icebergs....

and reflects individual ego....

but...as I goes within....

I begin to experience...this powerful....expansion of my 'I'....

and at some point realize....that 'I'....am connected to all the other

icebergs...

and we're all a part of the same,

underlieing......field...

My point exactly. It's when other people explain their " wonderous

self "

to others that the ego is born.

Try astral travel. . . that'll help dissolve the ego thing.

:-)
