U.S. military officials told CNN about 16 U.S. troops were aboard the CH-47 Chinook, a twin-rotor transport. Neither the cause of the crash nor the condition of those aboard were known late Tuesday. The craft was carrying reinforcements into an area " in support of U.S. forces currently conducting counter-terrorism operations, " the Coalition Press Information Center of the Combined Forces Command in Kabul said in a written statement. Rescuers are trying to reach the crash site, in the Hindu Kush mountains in the eastern part of the country. Army and Marine forces have been operating in the area, where peaks rise as high as 7,000-feet and are covered by snow year-round. http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/06/28/afghan.crash/index.html Dear List Members, Dasha is Ve/Sa/Ke/Ve/Ju.
