Four

Britons, a German and two Zimbabweans were killed when a cargo plane crashed

into a quarry on take-off, Canadian police have said.

The seven died when the Ghana-registered MK Airlines Boeing 747

crashed in Halifax, Canada, at about 0355

local time (0755 GMT) on Thursday.

Emergency services battled for four hours to quell the flames

that engulfed the fuel-laden plane.

Earlier reports said six Zimbabweans and one South African were
