I am confused as to what the difference is since in the essence of translation they all seem to mean, 'Oh great one, I offer my obeisances onto thee, please shower your mercy upon me.' It will provide shakti and shanti for you. Hope it helps. I am looking for the difference between the two types of mantras and possible examples. The obvious is that shanti mantras is to appease and shakti is to strengthen. I mean, is the subtle difference in the sanskrit, that gets lost in the translation to whatever other language? Or perhaps is it the attitude and goal adopted by the native in reciting the mantras that make them shanti of shakti?
