Largely unprepared for this new reality, Tajikistan soon faced an acute social and economic crisis as the previous interdependent central planning system disintegrated. Monday, 31 January, 2005, 06:49 GMT, An explosion in the centre of Dushanbe has killed one person, and left several injured. Monday, 13 June, 2005, 12:55 GMT, There has been a powerful explosion outside the emergencies ministry in Dushanbe.
