Guest guest Posted January 29, 2006 Report Share Posted January 29, 2006 Pakistani passenger train derails Sunday 29 January 2006, 20:51 Makka Time, 17:51 GMT A passenger train carrying up to 600 people has derailed in eastern Pakistan, sending several cars into a ravine, according to officials. There were no immediate reports of injures in Sunday's accident, which occurred near the town of Jhelum in eastern Punjab province at around 7.30pm (1430 GMT), said Salimur Rahman Akhund, general manager of operations with the state-run Pakistan Railways. Akhund said the 10-car train went off the tracks and four carriages fell into a ravine.
