Guest guest
Hello list, The transit strain is producing alarming headlines, this time about global warming in a magazine read by millions of people in the English speaking world: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1176980,00.html The editors of Time feel compelled to shout " the end is near " (the world is at the " tipping point " of environmental catastrophy). Is it overdone? Perhaps no one really knows, but so far the scientific evidence has suggested the development will be broadly manageable for humanity and other passangers on " Lifeship Earth, " but only if significant changes in the way we live are made. Likely, the editors of Time want people and their governments to wake up and begin to make the required changes in their lifestyles. Guest guest
>Dear C and list. I strongly recommend the just published work by Tim Flannery " The Weather Makers " as an excellent, non-judgemental work describing what is going on with global warming. With my best wishes, Chuck
