Guest guest
Some Md. Dams Deemed Unsafe Seven 'Unsafe' Dams Listed In 'High Risk' Category POSTED: 10:59 pm EDT May 8, 2006 BALTIMORE -- Some Maryland dams are not as safe as they should be. Engineers design dams for the most extreme conditions possible. Four days of downpours caused an Earthen dam in Hawaii to burst last March, sweeping away seven people and two houses. Last October, a wooden dam buckled under pressure of heavy rain in Taunton, Mass., forcing the evacuation of 50,000 people.  Until catastrophe strikes, many people consider dams out of sight and out of mind -- and that's no exception in Maryland. Five state engineers are responsible for inspecting some 358 dams statewide. http://www.thewbalchannel.com/news/9180437/detail.html?subid=22100764 & qs=1;bp=t US dasha: Ve/Sa/Mo/Ra/Ra MARYLAND dasha: Ve/Ju/Su/Sa/Sa satva Jorge Angelino Rua da Sociedade Filarmónica Perpétua Azeitonense, 29 2925-598 Azeitão Portugal jorge.angelino tel: mobile: 210813674 963916784 Add me to your address book...
