Whereas, the District of

Columbia was established on the first Monday in December, 1800, by an Act of

Congress as a seat for the national government under authority granted to the

Congress by Article 1, Section 8, of the U.S. Constitution,

still under construction when President John Adams and some 125 government

officials moved into the District in 1800. Congress met there for the first

time on 17 November, and the District officially became the nation's capital on

seat of the federal government from its current home (then Philadelphia) to its

new permanent home in the District of Columbia.

DC history actually began in

1790 when the United States Constitution was adopted on September 15, 1787,

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17, included language authorizing the

establishment of a federal district. This district was not to exceed 10 miles

square, under the exclusive legislative authority of Congress. On July 16,

1790, Congress authorized President George Washington to choose a permanent

site for the capital city and, on December 1, 1800, the capital was moved from

Philadelphia to an area along the Potomac River.

Earthquake History of the

District of Columbia

No historical earthquake has

been centered within the District of Columbia.

March 9, 1828. There was

this evening the shock of an earthquake, the first which I ever distinctly

noticed at the moment when it happened.

A moderate shock with

probably epicenter in Virginia was felt in D.C. on April 29, 1852.

Dear Jorge,

Apparently, a false alarm shut down the nations Congress for some

hours, when tensions ran high.

Best regards,

C

US lawmaker admits he gave erroneous tip that shut Congress

May 26 4:45 PM US/Eastern

A US lawmaker admitted to being the source of an erroneous report of

gunfire in a Congress office building that led authorities to shut

down a large part of the legislature's sprawling complex for several

hours.

Republican Representative Jim Saxton, speaking to Fox television,

said he was in the elevator at the garage level of the Rayburn House

Office building, when he heard what he thought was gunfire.

" I heard what I thought to be between six and ten shots, " the

Republican lawmaker said.

" It sounded exactly like gunfire to me. It was not of a backfire

nature. it was the sharp crack as comes out of a weapon. "

He continued: " I dove back into the elevator, rushed back to my

office and asked my chief of staff to report what I had seen or

heard to the Capitol Hill Police, which she did, and that started

the chain of events that unfolded over the course of the day. "

The report prompted police to lock down the Capitol dome building

and Rayburn for more than five hours, while they searched in vain

for a gunman, trapping lawmakers, visitor and office workers in the

congressional complex.

8, Clause 17, included language authorizing the establishment of a

federal district. This district was not to exceed 10 miles square,

under the exclusive legislative authority of Congress. On July 16,

1790, Congress authorized President George Washington to choose a

permanent site for the capital city and, on December 1, 1800, the

capital was moved from Philadelphia to an area along the Potomac

River.

Dear C,

That tension can be seen in the rectified chart.

Dasha: Ve/Ve/Su/Ve/Ju

Natal Moon, L6, and Sun, L7, are

afflicted by the MMP, Mercury. Transit Sun and Moon were afflicted by transit

Ketu from H8.

Transit Rahu/Ketu axis afflicts all even

houses.

Re: WASHINGTON, D.C. rectified chart

Dear Jorge,

Apparently, a false alarm shut down the nations

Congress for some

hours, when tensions ran high.

Best regards,

C

US lawmaker admits he gave erroneous tip that shut

Congress

May 26 4:45 PM US/Eastern

A US lawmaker admitted to being the source of an

erroneous report of

gunfire in a Congress office building that led

authorities to shut

down a large part of the legislature's sprawling

complex for several

hours.

Republican Representative Jim Saxton, speaking to Fox

television,

said he was in the elevator at the garage level of the

Rayburn House

Office building, when he heard what he thought was

gunfire.

" I heard what I thought to be between six and ten

shots, " the

Republican lawmaker said.

" It sounded exactly like gunfire to me. It was

not of a backfire

nature. it was the sharp crack as comes out of a

weapon. "

He continued: " I dove back into the elevator,

rushed back to my

office and asked my chief of staff to report what I

had seen or

heard to the Capitol Hill Police, which she did, and

that started

the chain of events that unfolded over the course of

the day. "

The report prompted police to lock down the Capitol

dome building

and Rayburn for more than five hours, while they

searched in vain

for a gunman, trapping lawmakers, visitor and office

workers in the

congressional complex.
