TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- The

first named storm of the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season slightly strengthened

early Monday in the Gulf of Mexico, prompting forecasters to issue tropical

storm warnings for Florida's west coast.

Tropical Storm Alberto had maximum sustained wind near 50

mph but was not likely to grow into a hurricane, the National Hurricane Center said. There were no major

reports of damage.

At 8 a.m. EDT, the storm was centered 240 miles

south-southwest of Apalachicola and was moving north-northeast at about 8 mph

and could make landfall Tuesday night, forecasters said.

9 boaters reported

missing off Florida

BOYNTON BEACH, Florida (AP) --

A piece of wreckage was found Monday on a beach several miles from the area

where a boat was reported to have sunk with nine people on board, but no other

trace of any vessel had turned up, the Coast Guard said.

No one had reported any boaters missing, officials added.

The Coast Guard said it received a call late Sunday from

someone who said all five adults and four children aboard a 33-foot powerboat

had put on life jackets. The man said his wife had broken her leg and was

bleeding, and said they were 3 miles off Boynton Beach Inlet on Florida's Atlantic Coast.

The man maintained contact with a handheld radio after the

boat went down, but the signal went dead after about an hour, officials said.

A beachcomber found a piece of boat hull Monday, but

officials didn't know if it came from the vessel mentioned in the distress call,

Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Chris O'Neil said. It appeared to be from the edge of a white boat with

fishing pole slots.

Pilot killed when plane

crashes into house

Monday, June 12, 2006; Posted: 3:20 p.m. EDT (19:20 GMT)

 

TAMPA, Florida (CNN) -- A small

plane crashed into a house at the end of a runway Monday in Tampa, killing the

pilot and badly burning the co-pilot, a police officer said.

The B90 plane hit the house about 12:30 p.m. ET near Peter O. Knight Airport close to downtown Tampa, said police spokeswoman

Laura McElroy.

Two men were in the plane at the time of the crash. The

pilot died at the scene, and his co-pilot is in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries

caused by burning jet fuel, an emergency responder said.

first named storm threatens to hit as hurricane

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Tropical Storm Alberto's winds reached 70 mph

Monday as the storm blew toward Florida's northeast Gulf Coast, where the

National Hurricane Center issued a hurricane warning from the Tampa Bay area to

near Tallahassee.

Forecasters

urged people to quickly complete " preparations to protect life and

property " with Alberto likely to reach hurricane strength -- 74 mph winds

-- within 24 hours. The hurricane center in Miami predicts the

storm will make landfall as early as Tuesday

morning.

The

center's director, Max Mayfield, told CNN Monday night that the

storm appeared to have " leveled off " and was no longer strengthening.

Transit Venus, L12, is badly placed in H6.

 

 

Transit Saturn, L4, is almost exactly over

natal Rahu and is closely conjunct with transit Mars.  

 

Natal Moon is still afflicted by transit

Mars and transit Ketu. Transit Moon, L9 in rasi, is debilitated in D-6.  This

morning it will be exactly aspected by natal Sun, L8 in

D-6, and afterwards it will come under the influence of natal Mars.

 

Transit Sun, L10 in rasi and L8 in D-6, is

exactly over natal Mars, L6 in rasi and L4 in D-6.  Transit Jupiter, L2 in rasi

and L12 in D-6, is exactly over MEP12, aspecting MEPs 4,

6, 8 and 12, and in mutual aspect with natal Jupiter.  Jupiter,

a saving factor in rasi, is not such a good influence regarding accidents and

all the significations of H6, as it rules H12 in D-6.  Being badly placed in

H12 and afflicted by transit Mars, it is very weak at the moment. In rasi,

Venus, combust Jupiter and the Sun are badly placed in H8.
