Dear Rahul ji,

i want to know about definasion of DAY & NIGHT.

what i know is :

1) day means SUNRISE TO SUNSET & NIGHT MEANS SUNSET TO NEXT SUNRISE.

2) if SUN is in 1 to 7 cusp day and if 6 to 1 cusp night

which is right and correct.as per maths view of point.

Solar day is the interval between two successive returns of the Sun to

the local meridian(line of longitude).

The sidereal day is length of time which passes between a given " fixed "

star (far away than sun)in the sky crossing a given projected meridian

(line of longitude).

The sidereal day is 23 h 56 m 4.1 s, slightly shorter than the solar

day.

Dear suprakash ji,

can you give more clear on this subject?

what is meaning of Solar day is the interval between two successive returns of

the Sun to

the local meridian(line of longitude).

you mean to say sunrise to sunset for day and sunset to next sunrise for

night?

Solar time is based on the idea that when the sun reaches its highest

point in the sky, it is noon.
