Guest guest
Dear Dr.Rahul (Our Moderator), After such unfortunate event of banning the persons from the group, I feel that we have good number of astrologers, very knowledgable and senior as well, we should restrict the membership only through referels to avoid misuse of such good group. This will have some exclusivity towards good exchange of knowledge. My best wishes, Regards, Unmesh Narkar ______________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
Good idea Unmesh. I too was thinking on the same lines. If other members also support this idea of membership by referrals, its ok for me. Yes, it was unfortunate to ban some members, but i had no other option left even after repeated requests. Thanks for the suggestion. GR. Guest guest
Dear Members, Thank you for your inputs regarding memberships. As a moderator i cannot personally read each and every message and verify it before it is posted on the group due to time factor. This may cause delay in posting to the group. i think the current settings are fine and we will continue with the same. l , Sesh Krish <kseshadri_2000 wrote: > > A follow up on my suggestions: > There is an age old saying Don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you " . > I am now wondering if trying to tackle trouble could end up creating more trouble, and not worth the effort. > > Seshadri > > Sesh Krish <kseshadri_2000 wrote: Friends, > I would largely go along with this. May be we can evolve a system where any member can straightaway report 'an abuse' transparently. Dont go into detail, Just say this post is an abuse.By doing so you are not enlarging it to a forest fire. Then we can have a system by which we filter the mail from that particular person. And then the 'supervisor' can take a look at the mail, AT HIS OWN TIME, and we should shift the response of " not proved guilty' on the one accused of abuse. The supervisor need not enter into a great discussion with the accused, but direct him that his communication should be a logical argument and without getting into abusive mode. The offender should be made to reframe his mail, until the supervisor feels it is fine now. The reframed mail should be posted with a note that his access to the group has now again been enabled. > If we stick to this process, the supervisor's load will be really limted, for we dont get so many 'abuses' of code of communication. If the supervisor has to check out each mail, I dont know if he will find it acceptable. Perhaps he will, for as a member of the group he will any way read most of the mail So why not glance through before passing on to the group. > Food for thought! > Seshadri > > Yogesh Rao Lajmi <lyrastro1 wrote: Dear Friends, > This seems like cutting of the nose to spite one's face... > A typically bureucratic approach, instead of punishing the offender, exemplarily, everyone is put to inconvenience... ! > Everybody should be free to membership of this forum...indecent or rude and deliberately offensive/insulting comments should be suitably edited or the offending lines should be blacked out...by the Editor, with a suitable warning to the offender... > Isn't this site meant for improving one's knowledge...being based on the premise that knowledge is limitless...the more one learns, one discovers, how much he still needs to learn...! ! > Thus the idea of " limiting " membership is,in my humble opinion not a very good idea...at all. > With best wishes, > L.Y.Rao. > > > Sesh Krish <kseshadri_2000 > l > Friday, 15 February, 2008 9:36:58 AM > Re: [l] Suggestion: Member Banned > > Dear Unmesh, > How would this work.
