Guest guest
Hello Mr Madhusudan, I have visited almost all the temples in and around Kumbakonam and Vaideshwaran Koil. There is a route map for Navagraha Temples in this group's files. The link to that file is ; http://f1.grp.fs.com/v1/4GSASeSo2yOtRz1qI77z1i2yiuy26Ani9lFjldhu24lsNhOx_yy\ SY1kOEUWS1yPEjbDPgau3569XC-P82UCM9WZz3heE7C1jYJY7/Navagraga%2520Route%2520Map.jp\ g It is not necessary that all the naadis will indicate you to do pariharam in these temples. But these temples are very powerful and if you can do pujas here it is good. Some priests will insists on 100rs for pariharam and some will accept whatever you give. If you can arrange a taxi, it will make the journey comfortable and easy. Plan the temple visit in such a way that you can visit at least three temples before 12:00 pm. By 12:00 pm(some temples by 1:00pm) to 4:00 pm the temples will remain closed. It is better to begin with the nearest temple by 6:00am. Some temple priests may or may not come in time. Temple like Suryanar koil will be open only by 7:30 am or 8:00am. Temple like Vaideshwaran Koil is open by 5:30pm. But there is no harm in reaching the temple early. It is very calm and beautiful in the mornings. For poor feeding - most of the temples have hotels near them. You can buy coupons and distribute to poor people there. It is better to do the poor feeding by 10:00am/7:00pm as thats their lunch/dinner time. You will be very lucky if you find anyone to offer food after these hours. You can buy breakfast coupon( max 12rs) or lunch/dinner coupon(max 20rs). For archana you need : 1 cocunut. Some flowers. Betel leaf and nut. Two small bananas. Agarbatti.(optional) Kapur. 15rs for one archana packet Oil and lamps(cost 2rs to 4rs each) Wicks. Some vendors may not come early in the morning, so for the first temple you can arrange these. Flowers can be bought in the morning near bus-stands. You can also travel by bus, but in that case you may not be able to visit more than two temples. Best time to visit - December to January. Please let me know if you need any more info about pariharams. Guest guest
Further, Stay in Kumbakonam or mayavaram. Many temple priests and staff are greedy. Don't feed people looking like pandarams (sadus) instead feed hapless people there. That will do good and buy the food and give and don't go for coupons as some may give to back tot he hotel and collect money or sell them off. If food, they have to eat. And; do every thing sincerely. A meal may cost upto 15Rs. Dhinakar , " harinomore " <harinomore wrote: > > Hi, > > Thank you for your detailed explanations!
