Guest guest Posted July 13, 2009 Report Share Posted July 13, 2009 1) My parents were unable to do their pariharams due to ill health. Will it be still effective if I do it on their behalf? Some of the pariharams suggested for me were, 2) Do Archanai after lighting a lamp in a famous Amman temple in Chennai. Since the temple was very far away from where we resided, it was around 8 pm by the time we reached the temple. It was extremely crowded also. I still managed to buy the archana tickets and hand over to the priest. About lighting the lamp I was allowed to do it only at the site of an upadevi. 3) Do Annadanam to poor children on my nakshatra day of the month. For this, I donated money to an orphanage with specific instructions to devote it only for feeding vegetarian food on that particular day. It seems, these pariharams done on March have not taken effect till now. I am a bit concerned as I was unable to do them exactly to the letter. Am I expected to do them again? 4) Deekshai Kandam - priests would chant the mantra on my behalf and would send me the prasadam. Am I supposed to wear the prasadam immediately once I receive them or could I keep them in the puja room for wearing on an important day?
