Guest guest Posted December 19, 2005 Report Share Posted December 19, 2005 22:41 2005-12-16 An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 shook northern Japan early Saturday, but there was no danger of a tsunami, the Meteorological Agency said. The quake occurred at 3:32 a.m. (1732 GMT Friday) and was centered about 50 kilometers (30 miles) below the seabed, off the coast of Miyagi prefecture, about 300 kilometers (180 miles) northeast of Tokyo, the agency said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
