This lady and her family is suffering from a severe Nakshatra Graha-Utpata dosha which requires homa to be done to appease the grahas. This is in turn caused by a Pitri-Shapa as Sun is afflicted and is among the badly placed grahas. Whenever this happens on the Arudha lagna or second house, it can cause great suffering to the families wealth. It will get easier after 2011, but Shani mahadasa is running which carries the dosha. Get a puja performed to appease this. Ask that this be done to appease the Graha-utpata dosha. The reference to the remedies is the 63rd supplement to the Atharva Veda. For others to learn more about this dosha, do read the chapter on the same in Brhat Nakshatra, by Sanjay Rath. In addition to the homa/havana which needs to be done, the mantra: aim hriim kliim chamundayai vicchai| is advised for the lady. This has to be begun from a Tuesday at sunset. This is meant to help overcome the curse and help with the Utpata Dosha, but the Havana has to be performed. Further, fasting on every Shukla Navami Tithi is advised. This has to be performed from sunrise to sunset on the Shukla Navami day. This has to be atleast performed until the end of Shukra Antaradasa, i.e. around 2010. Hope this helps.
