Om Namo Narayanaya

Pranaam Sanjay,

JAYA JAGANNATH

Dear Vijay,

There is a considerable amount of overlapping between

the functions of

the student and the teacher.

That is true.

There is a lot of overlaping between Mercury and Jupiter. Both are planets

of learning and enlightenment. However, one is earthy and one is ethery.

We have to draw a thin line in most matters with overlapping between them.

At a point of time the Buddha (Student) becomes

a Guru (Teacher) and yet, he continues to be a student of his own Guru.

This

is true for all of us. The name Vachaspati refers to Guru as the teacher

(most primary) of the Veda's in the oral tradition. Brihaspati taught

this

to the Maharishi's and now we have them. Hence He is the Vedic Speech

personified.

However, the act of speaking and the ability to

do so depends on the

vocal chords resonating certain sound waves. These sound waves need

the

medium of AIR or Vayu Tatwa (ruled by Saturn). Without the presence

of air,

Vac would not exist in this world. Not denying that sound waves cannot

travel through other medium as we know that they travel through wires

etc.,

the Natural mode is air. However speech is created in the Mooladhara

ruled

by Ganesha. Thus Mercury the Lord of the Prithvi Tatwa is the lord

of Vak/Speech/Sound. I hope you have followed my earlier mails to Narasimha

on this.

Further, the Lord of hearing is Jupiter! Thus although

with the

blessings of Mercury the student can have a few golden words from his

teacher, unless Jupiter blesses, these words will be meaningless, unheard

and unlearnt.

The REAL difference between KN Rao and I is that

he is like Sukracharya

or Brighu with his millions of disciples, while I am ruled by Brihaspati

or

Vyasadeva with a few, but the most learned disciples.

I have to concede that Sri KN Rao is a great astrologer.

He may have messed with the teachings of maharshis and spread some wrong

principles. He may have thrown mud on the most saattwic and accomplished

astrology guru of this century in printed medium (books) and muddied the

waters on the astrological scene of India. He is a great astrologer nonetheless.

We were talking about tapaswi yoga just the other day. Sri Rao has a

very powerful tapaswi yoga in navamsa chart! He also has it in vimsamsa,

shodasamsa and nakshatramsa charts!! Having that yoga in 4 different charts

is definitely very special.

In navamsa, Saturn and Venus are in 8th (Sc) and Ketu has an aspect

with them from 1st (Ar). This constitutes tapaswi yoga. Usually tapaswi

yoga involving 8th produces a dedicated researcher and one-man army.

Interestingly, all the three planets involved are in Martian signs.

The stubbornness of Mars can add vigor to tapaswi yoga. Persistence can

aid discipline and passion well.

In vimsamsa (spiritual activities), Saturn in 7th, Venus in Gemini lagna

and Ketu in 10th have mutual aspects. There are six planets in quadrants.

In nakshatramsa (strengths and weaknesses), lagna lord Venus and yogakaraka

Saturn are together in 9th (Cp) and Ketu in lagna (Ta) has an aspect with

them. We have tapaswi yoga again. He has this yoga in D-16 also (chart

of comforts).

Without any doubt, Sri Rao is a tapaswi of the

highest order. I bow to the tapaswi in him.

You, of course, are a pure Hamsa yoga person with the unique blessings

of 'vikala' Guru. You are full of sattwa guna.

[bTW, please remember my earlier point that tapaswi yoga need not produce

a sanyasi or a moksha saadhaka. Tapas (tapasya) can be for anything. An

egoist can be a tapaswi; a selfish, materialistic and greedy king can be

a tapaswi; and a moksha saadhaka can be a tapaswi.]

You talked about many disciples vs a few brilliant disciples. In Sri

Rao's D-24, sishya pada (arudha pada of 5th) is in Aq. From it, 2nd, 5th

and 8th are occupied/aspected only by Saturn and Mars. Due to Jupiter and

Sun in Aq, he will have many good students, but the malefic influence on

2nd, 5th and 8th from sishya pada is unfavorable for the astrological skills

of sishyas.

You also have sishya pada in D-24 in Aq. However, 2nd from it is occupied

by Meena Guru. The 5th from sishya pada is Ge and it is occupied by Mercury

and Venus. All these 3 benefics aspect 8th. Without any doubt, you will

have brilliant students who will have brilliant astrological skills. Being

your sishya will add to the skills promised by their own charts.

I have sishya pada in Gemini and Mercury is in 5th from it. I will also

have brilliant sishyas.

How many astrologers

are there in this world who can match the brilliance of Narasimha or

the

Tapasya of Ashok. I am very fortunate and am very thankful to Deva

Guru

Brihaspati for His kindness. May the Light of Sri Jagannatha Mahaprabhu

continue to guide you.

It is because of my poorva punya that you have such 'sishya vaatsalya'

and confidence me. I am grateful.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha

Can we infer about one's Guru in a similiar way (by examining arudha of

9th in D-24)?

(Consider my D-24, Sani in Pisc, Sukra in Gemi, Kuja in Cancer, Guru and

Lagna in Virgo,

Rahu, Kethu and Budha in Sco, Chandra and Ravi in Aqua.

Now A-9 (arudha of 9th) is Cancer along with Kuja. Ravi and Chandra are

in 8th from there

(as well as they aspect it). So, can we say my guru must have strong

influences of Kuja and Chandra?

hey naarasimha mama daehi karavalambam!

Regards,

Vijay

Dear Vijay,

While determining the Guru, who will come in BODY, consider Graha Dristi

on the ninth as well. Here, Mercury is the Lagnesh of D-24 and also strongly

aspects the empty ninth house. Hence Mercury is the planet bringing your

Guru. Having accepted you as his sisya, it is only most befitting for you to

address him as as your Guru. I can understand that this transition is a bit

difficult and at this juncture give my highest regards to your father and

his DHARMA.

Long time back I had discussed a very basic principle in the

Jyotish-list: SARVA DHARMA PITRI PADE; SARVA SUKHA MATRI PADE. Dharma comes

from the feet of your father and happiness from the feet of your Mother. In

a deeper sence, from Vishnu and Lakshmi.

JAYA JAGANNATHDear Narasimha,

There is no doubt that Sri K N Rao was a great Tapaswi and this manifested in his Saturn Dasa when the Tapaswi Yoga of Saturn, Venus and Ketu worked. With the advent of Mercury, the entire situation has gone topsy turvy. Mercury rules Vak and his Vak has caused him too many enemies including his Sisya's!! Being in the third from Arudha Lagna it shall also determine his last moment in Virgo (Delhi) in a garden. Dr Raman is gone and I don't want to provoke Shri Rao, who has since subsided his venom, into starting that tirade again.

Forgive and Forget. It does not matter. He will have to pay for his sins and who are we to sit in judgement. Let the future generation Jyotish also not look at us as "having fallen like K N Rao". Let us strive to raise the Jyotish to its original level of Satwa. I am proud of your unflinching devotion to Dr Raman who is the Father of the revival of Jyotish in India. He too would be happy if we bury hatchets and work towards realisation of his dreams.
