I was also taught the same thing by my father and classics say the same thing. But I have a problem with it. If someone on vedic astrology list sends a prasna on the list, different astrologers may open and analyze the prasna at different times and there is a good chance that there is an even distribution of lagnas! Did Sri Jagannath intervene differently in each case (i.e. to give a different result)? Rationally speaking, I have a problem with this model. So the time of " receiving the prasna " or " analyzing the prasna " looks dubious from a rational perspective. The time when the native forms the prasna in mind and thinks of asking Jyotishis about it is rationally more viable. It is also due to Jagannatha's prerana! But I know that this is not what the tradition teaches. It is also possible that the latter is correct, but astrologers started to accept the former, because the latter time cannot be reliably measured while the former can be (it is totally within the control of astrologers!). My 2 cents... Your sishya, Narasimha
