JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Gurudeva,

Pranaams.

I have collected a few life events of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

maybe they are helpful in deciding the proper Lagna for His

chart.

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was the son os Sacidevi and Jagannatha

Misra. Saci Mata's father was a renowned astrologer, Nilambara

Cakravarti. Jagannatha Mishra and Sacidevi had 8 daughters before

Lord Caitanya was born, but all of them died at a young age.

The ninth was a boy, who was born on Phalguna Purnima in 1486 in

Navadvipa. Nilambara Cakravarti called Him Vishvambara, and Sita

Thakurani (Sri Advaita's wife) called Him Nimai.

At five years of age the Lord joined the school of Gangadasa

Pandita, where He studied Sanskrit grammar and logic.

Lord Caitanya was ten, when His brother, Visvarupa took sannyasa,

and soon His father left his body. After that the Lord decided to

marry Laksmidevi, Vallabhacarya's daughter.

At the age of eleven He opened His own grammar school, and became

known as Nimai Pandita.

After that He went to East-Bengal and met Tapana Mishra. Befor He

returned, Leksmidevi was bitten by the snake of separation from

the Lord and she also left her body.

After returning from East Bengal, the Lord became very famous and

rich and gahtered many followers. Then He accepted His second

wife, Visnupriya, and defeated Kesava Kasmiri. All of this

happened before His age of 16.

At the age of 17 He went to Gaya to perform His father's sraddha

ceremony, and at that time He received Diksa from Ishvara Puri.

He took sannyasa at the age of 24 from Keshava Bharati, a

sannyasi of the Sankara sampradaya. Then He left for Vrindavana,

but then Saci devi asked Him to settle in Puri, so He went there.

Shortly after arrving there the Lord went on a pilgrimage of the

South Indian tirthas, from which He returned to Puri when He was

26.

At the age of 27 He went to Vrindavana. Finally He returned to

Puri at the age of 30 and he spent the last 18 years of His

manifest pastimes in Puri.

During the age of 30-36 He preached in Puri, but the last 12

years were spent almost exclusively in the Gambhira in Kasi

Mishra's house.

During this last period He wrote the Sikshashtakam, the only 8

stanzas written down by the Lord Himself. He left the earth at

the age of 48, while merging into the body of Tota Gopinatha.

Other Acaryas say taht He merged into the body of Jagannatha,

while still others say that both events took place

simultaneously.

Your shishya, Gauranga das
