Guest guest
Om Krishnaaya Namah Dear Kusha Mata, Hare Krishna. I don't know about all of these (I could guess but I wouldn't want to mislead you), but let me mention the ones I know: > 1) Naivedyam Usually in Archana, this refers to offering food to the Deity. > Where can I get these items and what are they? > 4) Gugul This is a plant/herb, that is used widely in both Ayurveda and various Yajna's etc. I think it's resin is used. While I can give you more of it's Ayurvedic properties, I can only guess that is likely to be widely available in India. Even in the West, Ayurvedic pharmacies may be able to help you out. I think Raghu's site has a link to an Ayurvedic Herbs site belonging to somebody called Lakshmana. You might want to contact him. > 5) Roots of plant called Bena (used for making > flutes) > 6) white Aparajita flowers It's probably best if you ask somebody in India about where to get the flowers and the Bena root. The Bena root seems familiar, because I'm fairly sure I was around some when I was eight and went to India, but I'm not sure. Guest guest
Dear Sanjay and all, " Necessity is the Mother of Invention " The typing of my word list is in progress, but slow, due to other demands on my time. Hopefully it will be available within the next 2 weeks and fulfill your expectation as worthy to include on your website. Dear Vrinda, of the list you requested the only one I have is: Niti = codes of conduct or behaviour Respectfully yours, Pearl.
Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Kusha Mata, Pranaams. -----Eredeti üzenet----- Feladó: <Vrinda CÃmzett: <varahamihira > Elküldve: 2000. április 27. 18:45 Tárgy: [Jagannath] Vrinda-vati Sadhana Jaya Jaya Jagannath! Dear Guru-deva, Pranams! Jaya Jaya Vrinda-devi! I have some questions regarding the meanings of the words below from the Vrinda-vati Sadhana Lesson. 1) Naivedyam Food offering in puja, as Pursottam has stated. As Vaishnavas worship Her as a servant of Krishna, they usually offer Her Mahaprasad, as You may know. 2) Niti Regulations of the Shastras, like Narad Pancaratra, Hari-bhakti-vilas etc. 3) Chaura I can only guess this, but I think this means the pot with the Tulasi plant. Where can I get these items and what are they? 4) Gugul This is Indian Bedellium, latin name is Commiphora Mukul or Commiphora Roxburghii, although according to R.Santhanam it's Amyris Agallochum. Must be available in Ayurvedic stores. 5) Roots of plant called Bena (used for making flutes) 6) white Aparajita flowers I'm not able to identify the last two. Yours, Gauranga das
Guest guest
Dear Kusha Devi, Jaya Sri Jagannatha Naivedyam is FOOD and this will differ from one eity to another. Ganesha likes Laddoo (Yellow sweetmeat) and Modaka (Brown Jaggery sweetmeat); Tulasi likes ONLY Mahaprasad from Jagannath as it is the most pure food; Shiva likes milk; The sun likes sweet water as He is always thirsty due to the heat!. What does Krishna like? Tulasi leaf of course with the mantra KLIM written in Vermillion. Purushottama has explained the others and Gauranga has also done the same. " Bena Chera " has been used where Chera means Roots and Bena refers to a plant that grows in the banks of rivers in Puri. This is tall and straight like tall grass and is sharp like a dagger and you can cut your hand if not careful. Aparajita is the favorite of Shiva (Hara, Hare, Radhe...) and is a small plant. The flowers have a bluish outer border and whitish inner borders with petals like a butterfly. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannath Dear Kusha Devi, permission is not required for this Sadhana. Yes, my good wishes are with you. Do not worry about individual items. Any white flower will do if it has Sraddha (Faith & Humility) and a simple incense stick will do. Yes, please ensure that the lamp is of PURE GHEE and faces EAST. Guest guest
Dear Guru-deva, Dandavats! Jayasrila Prabhupada! Jaya Jaya Sri Guru and Gouranga! Thank you for your blessings. Please confirm this as accurate: (a) Recite Moola Mantra in a quite and isolated place. (b) Mantra japa should be done at night. © Perform pooja like offering Tulasi Arotik with ghee lamp white floweres and incense. Keep ghee lamp at Tulasi's foot facing East. (d) Offer six Tulasi leaves to the six-sakhis with mantras. Then chant 14 rounds of japa of " Om Klim Vrindavatyai Namah " If I do this correctly for seven nights then Sarvagyana siddhi will be attained? Is this correct? Thank you for your guidance.
