Let us understand this. When we talk about these sadhana etc, we are invariably talking about " ATMA SHAKTI " ot the strength and knowledge of the Soul to face evil/ dark forces. Jaimini says that 1. If two malefics are in trines to the Karakamsa (Navamsa sign occupied by the AK in Navamsa only) then the native has knowledge of Mantra shakti. 2. If three or more malefics are placed in trines then he has Tantra Shakti, Yantra shakti knowledge etc. Thus the ability is seen in trines to Karakamsa (And not Navamsa Lagna). You can see my chart as an example. This will give you a brief idea of the knowledge I might posess. If malefic combinations like Guru-Chandala Yoga are in trines to Karakamsa then this knowledge will be used to kill people. If the benefics influencing AK are strong, then this knowledge will be used for the welfare of the world (Fortunately I have the strong Moon aspecting AK, else I too may have joined the likes of Chandraswamy..see his chart with the Guru-chandala yoga in trines to AK-misuse of the knowledge for evil purposes by him has been spoken about in Delhi circles). TAPASWI YOGA Tapasya is a different aspect altogether. It amounts to physical disciplene to achieve spiritual progress with various Yama and Niyama etc. It also shows a person working diligently and without personal ambition to achieve a certain objective..it is the essence of Krishna's teaching of Karma Yoga. Saturn, Venus and Mokshakaraka ketu in trines or influencing the Navamsa Lagna/ AK give this Yoga. If this Yoga is present then all these planets come under the spell of Krishna (OM). Ketu being the Moksha Karaka removes personal ambition and gains and gives a spiritual edge to the work. Venus is the greatest Tapaswi and had hung himself upside down from a tree for 14 years or so in a smoke (Ketu) from a fire burning underneath to get the Mritunjaya Mantra. Sukracharya had also lived for 20 years in the stomach of Shiva (the first achiever Yoga) to learn the secrets of rejuvinating the dead. Thus the determination of Sukracharya is infused into the native and nothing can stop him from the cherished goal. Finally saturn the hard worker makes the native toil day and night for the objective. Now, let us examine houses. The only house for which all the three of Saturn, Venus and Ketu are significators is 12th house. Thus, this Tapaswi Yoga makes the chart focus on the 12th house and Moksha etc and mantra like OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA etc Dwadasakshari (12 lettered amntra) are very favourable. Any good Dwadasaksharimantra can activate this Yoga. Dear Solai You have a unique and interesting chart and interestingly enough in the last couple of days I was looking at the chart of one my close friends who has a similar arrangement of planets.Maybe Sanjay can give some insight into the significance of these combinations. In your chart you have Jupiter,Mars and Ketu in the fiery trikona (1,5,9) in the (3,11,7) houses.This forms an inverted triangle.Also Saturn,Rahu(Atma Karka) and Venus are in the airy trikona (11,3,7) in the (1,5,9) houses which forms a normal triangle.Together the two triangles form a star formation (symbolic of the " Star of David " ) which is considered as a spiritual sign in esoteric astrology.It signifies the union of Shiva and Shakti which is the goal of Tantric Sadhana.You also have tapaswi yoga in the Rasi chart.Interestingly you have Moon in the 12th from AK in Rasi,Navamsa,Vimamsa.In Shastiamsa it is in a trine to the AK.The Moon indicates Shakti or Gauri.Rahu as AK indicates again indicates a high degree of spiritualism. As we know that the fire element is used to make offerings to the gods in the rituals(Jupiter indicating the mantras,Mars the sacrificial fire and Ketu the spiritual connection) and the the tapaswi yoga shows the tapas of the person carrying out the ritual.This could indicate the ability to succesfully carry out rituals or maybe somebody who has acquired immense tapobal due such practices in the previous life In the Navamsa as many as many as 5 planets aspect Ketu in the 12th house although this is in the seventh from the Atma karka Rahu. In Shastiamsa you have Mercury,5th lord with ketu in the ninth and Jupiter in the 5th which indicates spiritualism of a high degree even in the previous birth. I have applied these rules to the charts of the few Tantriks I know. In the case of one he has Sun and Ketu in Karakamsa ascendant, which is also Navamsa ascendant. There are no other malefics involved. Does the Sun count as a malefic? He is very good at Tantra and always achieves success in his mantra/yantra. The other chart I looked at was Ramakrishna's. From Karakamsa ascendant he only has Rahu in the lagna. Why does this rule not apply to his chart? The tantrik you mention has Sun & Ketu and maybe very good at agni/ Shiva Tantra like Dattatreya Tantra as taught by Shiva. Sun & Ketu are considered malefics in this regard and two malefics is adequate. He will also be good in Yantra due to Ketu. The involvement of one of the malefics as an Atmakaraka changes the story completely and the depths or levels are tremendous. Rahu was the Atmakaraka for Ramakrishna and being the most terrible malefic gave the greatest spirituality. There is another Yoga called Shakti Yoga which functioned in the chart of Ramakrishna. Read about this in the Jaimini Sutra and compare the charts of Ramakrishna and Hitler and see the two extreme faces of shakti as the compassionate Mother and as the great destroyer Chandi... I have been told that with Tantra you can alter the results of the birth chart. For example if the birth chart indicates no children, then with mantra and yantra you can cause the wife to become pregnant without misscarriage. Another example is that if someone shows death, such as cancer, in their chart, if the Tantra is done soon enough this can be avoided.
